Yidden Arrested for Assisting in the Arrest of a Gang of Robbers
Crown Heights, Brooklyn –- In an unprecedented attack on vigilant and concerned residents of our community that are passionate about our safety, Police held two Yidden for allegedly beating a suspect.
The incident began in front of 770 Eastern Pkwy when a group of 3 Black males and 1 Black female assaulted and robbed a young Latino teen, the group shoved him to the ground and took his backpack, then attempted to flee the scene.

Many Jews who witnessed the incident began chasing the perpetrators, three of which were caught on Kingston and Eastern Pkwy. Police were called and arrived on scene and arrested one of the three that were apprehended and released two of them, the male and female, apparently due to the combination of their young age and inconclusive evidence against them.
A short while later people that were standing around spotted the fourth teen that was involved in the beating and robbery standing within the crowd and trying to see what happened to his friends. A short pursuit ensued and the perp was apprehended on Union St between Kingston and Albany.
Police were called to the secondary scene, only from there things went sour. The responding officers began interviewing the suspect and a group of Blacks and a Muslim that were all standing around the suspect, and a short while later two officers approached two of the Yidden that were watching what was going on and told them to accompany them down to the precinct without detailing any reasons why.
After the two Yidden were placed in the police car the group that made the outrages allegations were seen laughing and smiling with glee at what they perceived was the apparent misfortune of the two Yidden.
The victim was brought over to the second scene in order to identify the suspect only he wasn’t able to make a positive identification, though numerous bystanders made a conclusive ID of the suspect.
The suspect was taken in, but was not placed under arrest. The Yidden were released after being held ‘for questioning’.
CrownHeights.info later learned that the fourth perp was in fact later arrested.

CORRECTION: My detention yesterday was in fact not illegal, it was sanctioned under new laws after 9/11 which allows police to hold a suspect for questioning up to 24 hours.

You should consult with Crown Heights alumnus and Chabad friend Curtis Sliwa and find out how he dealt with the police when the police went after the Guardian Angels back in the ’70’s for trying to make NY safer. I heard Sliwa say he got the Guardian Angels idea from the Jewish patrols in Crown Heights, where he grew up, and that he remembers the Jewish patrol in Crown Heights saved him once.

Webby, you should sue the city for unlawful arrest. There are police misconduct lawyers around town that specialize in this kind of work. The officers won’t have to pay, the city will, but if enough complaints are filed against an officer, and investigation is made.
