Suspect Sought for Several Home Burglaries

The 71st Precinct has released a warrant for the arrest of a man who is alleged to have burglarized several homes in the vicinity of Carroll Street between Brooklyn and New York Avenues in Crown Heights.

The burglaries occurred over the last two weeks, all during the daytime hours when the homes were unoccupied.

In one particular incident, the burglar entered the home during a one-and-a-half-hour period when the homeowner was not home, suggesting that the burglar familiarized himself with the homeowner’s habits and knew when to strike.

A source in the NYPD told CrownHeights.info that all the targeted homes all belonged to non-Jews. He declined to speculate as to why the burglar seems to have sought out specifically non-Jewish homes.

The items stolen during the burglaries were mostly consumer electronics and jewelry.

The suspect was identified as an African-American male in his early 20s. Anyone with information is encouraged to notify Detective Christophe Mcguinness at 718-735-0501, or Detective Borough Brooklyn South at 718-287-3239.
