Car Burglar Apprehended After Injuring Himself Fleeing

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Tens of Montgomery Street residents, along with Shomrim volunteers, took to the street and chased down a burglar who had broken into a number of cars on their block. While attempting to flee, the burglar injured himself.

The incident began around two hours before Shabbos, when residents witnessed a Black male looking into cars on Montgomery Street near Brooklyn Avenue and acting suspicious. It did not take long before the suspect broke into one car, rummaged through it and proceeded to search for his next target.

He found the next vehicle, a minivan, further down the block and broke into it as well. As the perpetrator began leaving the scene he noticed that he was being followed and began running away towards New York Avenue.

Tens of residents came out of their homes and chased the perpetrator, who stupidly turned and ran towards the police precinct. When he realized where he was headed, he turned into the alleyway and began running between houses, coming back out onto Montgomery St. – right into the hands of a bunch of residents, who managed to stop him.

While stopped, the thief claimed he was innocent and that he didn’t do anything, then suddenly took off running once again, only to be stopped just as suddenly when he collided head-first with a street sign pole.

The injury did not deter the thief though – who had the presence of mind to pull off his striped black and white shirt in an attempt to elude his chasers – but the scene grew so chaotic that nearby cops took notice, ran over and took the suspect into custody.

The police, together with Shomrim’s assistance, located the owners of the two vehicles that were burglarized, and arrested the suspect.

EMS was later called to give medical treatment to the suspect for a laceration he sustained to his face.

I noticed this black man also suspiciously, 2 weeks ago, while I was on vacation in Cr Hts visiting my kids. Good, let him get fully charged, the creep of a creep. There’s the product of Brooklyn, one of thousands of stealers.

#5 You are absolutely right, under Bloomberg’s administration and his liberal judges , criminals have more rights that law-abiding citizens. Lets us not forget about that seven time major crimes felon who was let out after his seventh conviction for a major feleny with the punishement of go see a psychristist. A couple of days later he was killed by a female police officier who save her partner’s life. When asked why this major criminal was out on the streets, the judge replied he had every right to be so.

He did not do anything and is innocent, then why did he run away? Obviously, he was guilty. What is next, I suppose that he will call up the Obama justice department and demand that civil rights charges be pressed against those “evil racist” Jews, who chased him and caused him to injur himself. Will Charles Barron and Al Sharpton have a protest march for this “innocent” youth? I am surprised that this story did not make national headlines all over the country. I could see the headlines now, “Racist white Jews attack innocent black youth for no reason”!

I wish that we had shomrim here in the Portland Oregon area. You do a great job keeping the streets safer. How can I donate to help support your efforts?
