4 Killed in Brutal Terrorist Attack in Har Nof Shul

Two Palestinian terrorists stormed into the Kehilat Yaakov Shul in Har Nof, Jerusalem armed with meat cleavers and guns and went on a bloody rampage – killed four and injuring many more. Three of the victims were U.S. citizens and a fourth was British.

The terror attack began at 7:00am when the terrorists – wielding massive knives and a gun – entered the Kehilat Yaakov synagogue on Harav Shimon Agasi Street, which includes both a Shul and Yeshiva, and carried out attacks in more than one location.

The victims were identified as Moshe Twersky, Arye Kupinsky and Kalmen Levin who carried dual U.S.-Israeli citizenships, and Avraham Shmuel Goldberg was born in the UK

The Terrorists were both killed in a shootout with police and security forces.

Terrible and graphic photos from the scene reveled men wrapped in Tallaisim and Tefillin lying throughout the building in pools of blood, as well as many holy seforim and Siddurim soaked in victims’ blood.

“This is an area with a number of rooms,” said Magen David Adom spokesman Zaki Heller. “The wounded were scattered throughout different rooms and the paramedics who arrived at the scene dispersed to deliver first aid. The wounded were quickly evacuated by ambulance to hospital.

He said, “It is definitely true to say that the images there – of casualties wearing prayer shawls – are very difficult.”

Akiva, a Magen David Adom paramedic, said that he was greeted at the scene by the sight of a worshiper with stab wounds.

“Inside there was someone singing. I ran into the synagogue, there was a gunshot victim lying on the floor. I tried to treat him, but the gunfire started in my direction and we fled. I pulled the wounded man along,” he said.

“The police arrived and surrounded the entrance and then the terrorist ran out and they shot him. There was wild gunfire. People ran out of the synagogue. It was hell.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that Israel will “respond harshly” to the attack, describing it as a “cruel murder of Jews who came to pray and were killed by despicable murderers.”

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said he spoke to Netanyahu after the assault and denounced it as an “act of pure terror and senseless brutality and violence.”

(WARNING: Although we refrained from posting the more graphic photos, please note that some may still find the images upsetting.)

  • These pictures don't show the truth

The real horror is devastating to us here in Israel. You can’t imagine how we feel today, we are sick to our hearts. It reminds me of Mumbai.

B’chasdei Hashem, terrorists entered a Yeshiva in B’nei Braq today to do the same things. The boys had pepper spray & averted the carnage that would have been carried out. These subhumans were arrested – no doubt we will see that some were released in the Shalit exchange or some goodwill gesture by this liberal government.

In my town, a suspect was on the loose and children were warned to stay in school. Again, B”H nothing happened. However, we are on high alert and we must all be vigilant.

May G-d protect us all. Daven for our brave soldiers and police, and for all of us.

  • Locked and Loaded Lubavitcher

It was never a matter if “if” but a question of when.
And I can assure you that it is not limited to Israel……..

Plainly put: Get a gun and learn how to use it.

These animals wouldn’t have lasted three seconds in my shul!!!!!

    • you're right

I’m glad there is at least one right minded shul out there!

We are expected to take reasonable and proper measuers to avoid life risks.

We get vaccinations, go to the doctor, wear our seatbelts, take our vitamins, lock the doors, turn on the alarm, put screens on the windows…and yet when it comes to actually fighting for our lives, so many of us expect a miracle. And even worse, some expect and demand that the goyim provide that miracle.

When we drive we make sure to have all the best safety technology; airbags all over, crumble zones, antilock brakes, perfect crash test ratings and more.

Similarly when we are walking down the street, at shul, at home, at school, running errands, or anywhere else, we should desire the same level protection.

Guns, especially semi-automatic with high capacity magazines, are the best tools at repelling agression. Guns are the tools that allow the few, the small, and the weak to have a chance against the large, the strong, and the many.

Guess which catagory we fall into?

I wish I could teach fellow Jews about firearms, if only they would listen.

    #2, thankyou for those words.
there was recently a meeting for Chayal el Chayal to support the Lone Soldiers in Crown Heights. While it is not as well known as should be, it would be a big mitzva for everyone to check into what they do. Please look at it and then show it to others.
They have these soldiers for shabbos, yomtov, for weekday, do counseling, chizuk and more. How much more could we ask an org to do for Lone Soldiers in the IDF.

The Rebbe Said: That if Israel gives away land that Hashem gave them In a miraculous way during the. June 1967 SIX day war. This will put the lives of Jews all over the world in Extreme Danger

#2 you are right, and as long as we have this person in the White House, he will continue to push Israel to make concessions for peace in spite of the lessons of history. What is worse is our so-called breatherin, the liberal version, who continue to state that the security and fate of Israel is not a top priority and continue to support a person in the White House who has time again shown his anti-Israeli basic views

Are you aware of the land given back before “this person in the white house”?

#8} But the more and more he espouses the Arab viewpoint and advocates publically the return to 1967 borders, the more demanding becomes the Palestinians and their demands; Abbas now mentions 1947 borders and terms as a basis for peace and an establishment of his state
