Teen Shot Just Steps from Two Schools

A teenager opened fire on a group teens across the street, just steps away from a public school and Yeshiva on Albany Avenue. One victim was taken to the hospital for a gunshot wound to the arm.

The shooting occurred on Thursday afternoon at around 3:00pm on the corner of Albany Avenue and Maple Street. An eye witness told CrownHeights.info that he saw a one teenager, standing on the southeast corner of Albany open fire at a group of teenagers across the street.

Around four shots were fired and one of them struck a victim in the arm. He was rushed to Kings County Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Police responded in large numbers within moments of the shooting and managed to apprehend two out of the three suspects that were seen together at the time of the shooting. A third got away and the gun was not recovered.

The eye witness described the shooter as a Black male, approximately 16 years old, average height and build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and light colored gray jeans.

Sources in the police department said that they were taking this incident very seriously, especially due to the fact that it happened just a few steps away from P.S. 91, a major public school and a Jewish school a few more steps away.

The suspects that were apprehended were brought into the precinct for questioning and for a lineup
