Attempted Knockout in Crown Heights – Possible Hate Crime

Three teenagers attacked a Jewish man on an Albany Avenue street corner Wednesday night in a suspected ‘knockout’ attack. Police are investigating the assault as a possible hate crime.

The incident occurred at around 12:00am Wednesday night when a 24-year-old Jewish man was accosted by a group of three black teenagers, one of who punched the man in the face. No words were exchanged between the man and the group.

Police were called an investigation has been opened.

Police sources tell CrownHeights.info that the incident is being investigated as a possible hate crime.

    Why possibly? Of course it is a hate crime. Did they knock him out “out of love”?

      No, maybe they just did it because he was there, and they would have hit anyone else just as readily. Probably not, though; the perpetrators of these “knockouts” are always young black men, and the victims are always non-black, so the odds are good that the investigation will find that it is a “hate crime”.
