Shooting Ends 80-Day Violence-Free Streak

A 37-year-old African-American man died after being shot multiple times during an argument outside a Crown Heights apartment building Thursday evening, DNA Info reports.

The shooting was said to be the end to an 80-day violence-free streak for the area.

The victim was found unconscious outside 268 Albany Ave. near St. John’s Place at around 7:30pm by police responding to a 911 call. He was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The shooter fled on foot, and is being sought by detectives.
