can u give more info as to what was stolen from the house, and where the house is near, so we can be aware of where robberys are happening.

  • Robbery

Last Motzei Shabbos 2 houses were robbed of great valuables on Carroll Street. This is not an isolated incident. These atrocities have unfortunately befallen the community lately and they wern’t reported anywhere including this amazing website. In the future, a big deal must be made of any horrible incident that G-d forbid occurs, no matter how trivial you think it is, immediately! That might give a chance for beefed up security in our blessed neighborhood.

  • concerns

To: “A jew Wrote” You know when the Mayore was in CH at Chanina’s house he asked how are things in the neighborhood and was told that every thing was great. We are being represented by idiots and criminals.

  • hi

Hey I just wanted to know how these guys break in? I live in a building and I’m always kinda weary about the window near my fire escape even though there’s no access to the back of the building. Did this house have a bad lock? Easily accessable windows? Anyone know?

  • Caring about our community

Perhaps all these recent tragedies, and awful crimes, may Hashem have mercy, are a call to the community…maybe we should examine our behavior and ask our Rabbis? Not saying this as a put-down but as a real heartfelt question.

  • Extremely Worried

We really need to stop and think. What is going on here? In the past, when things were not going well for the Yidden, it was Hashem sending them a message that something needed to be addressed and fixed. Our holy Bais Hamikdosh was destroyed because of Sinas Chinam. Things have been on the down slide for a while, and it has become a snowball. What can we as a community do that will be a cry to Hashem to make this craziness stop? As a community we need to find something that we can strengthen (ex. tznius, or ahavas yisroel, etc.). Who can we turn to but Hashem?

    To concerns

When Bloomberg came to Chanina Sperlin house, Chanina asked him to put more police in CH & he told him that there is a lot of crime & Bloomberg said he will make sure that the police do their job.

  • Thats crazy!

Omg thanks for adding that info, that is my block!!! Everybody should really make sure that their houses are locked, and we should finally get some good security around here!

  • 6H

In front of everyone, Chanina told Mayor Bloomberg that there is a lot of crime & he wants it to stop, and then Mayor Bloomberg told Chanina & the rest of the people there, that he will speak to the police, he will give Crown Heights more police, he will put up vidoe cameras & he will make sure the police catch the crooks.
