Wheel Theft of the Week: Brooklyn Ave. and Carroll St.

The latest vehicle to be victimized by the wheel thieves operating with impunity and devastating car owners all over Crown Heights, was a BMW sedan parked on Brooklyn Ave. between President and Carroll Streets.

These brazen thefts have been occurring on a regular basis and will continue until the thieves are caught.

In the meantime, be sure to protect your vehicle in as many ways as possible so you do not become a victim. Anti-theft lug nuts and car tilt alarms are two examples of relatively simple safety measures that can be added to a vehicle.

Remember, even if an added security measure isn’t 100% foolproof, it will still likely deter thieves from targeting your car and cause them to move on to an easier target.

  • Everyone should buy Anti Theft locks for their Tires

When a thief sees them, he’ll just move on to the next car that doesn’t have an Anti Theft Lock on their tires

And, you don’t need an expensive German car to drive to Kingston Avenue or Boro Park. A good clean used car will do just fine. Give the rest of the money to a good tzedaka that helps those in need.

need more surveillance cameras. I wish I had a better solution, but this is the best one I can think of.
