Random Assaults Continue; Latest Victim 11-Year-Old

Another random assault was perpetrated against a Jewish child in Crown Heights this morning. The perpetrators – a pair of female teens – have not been apprehended.

The incident took place at around 9:15am on Brooklyn Ave. between Lefferts and East New York Aves., alongside the Beis Rivkah building.

The victim, an 11-year-old boy, was walking to school when he was approached by two African-American teenage girls; one of whom swung her bag and struck him in the face.

Shomrim, Hatzalah and the NYPD were all called to the scene. The boy was treated by Hatzalah volunteers, but b”h did not sustain any serious injuries.

Community Affairs Officer of the 71st Precinct Richard Silverstein, who was on his way to give a lecture on cultural awareness at a nearby public school, heard the call over his radio and stopped at the scene and waited until uniform officers arrived, who then took the boy in a squad car to canvas the area and search for the assailants.

A police report was filed as well, and the incident is being treated as a possible hate crime.

The assailants were described as African-American girls ages 13-16. One of them had black hair with red streaks running through it and bangs.

Attempts by CrownHeights.info to obtain surveillance video of the attack revealed that the multiple security cameras surrounding Beis Rivkah are not operational, and have not been for quite some time.

    Maybe I am slow, but don’t we have previous “surveillance” pics/vids of some of these perpetrators??? Something makes me think that these “cowards” are not specifically visiting our neighborhood to punch out some kids on their way to school, or in the eve…
    I would assume that the “punchers” are also on their way to a local delightful “other” school in this vicinity, or live nearby, and attend a school nearby…. SO, how about presenting these videos to EVERY principal of EVERY public school in the walking distance of CH, and asking if they know who the kids are…. THIS IS NOT OK!!!!

    Here is where this may lead if not stopped. Eventually, some rightfully enraged indivudual(s) will retaliate, even against a random, innocent
    bystander(s). Then the other side (Sitra Achra) will have an “excuse” to infilct even more damage, maybe even murder,CH”V. Then we will retaliate, likewise – on and on and on. Then, maybe, MAYBE, those who started this will realize, it’s not worth the blooodshed, we’re getting hurt too, let’s stop.
    Does this really have to happen? Let’s stop it now, because this will have to stop, anyway.

    somehow we should get cameras subsidized and everyone should have one….MUST have one. Enough is enough. These kids who are doing it….did you ever think of it? They must wake up and be so lonely and unhappy, that this is all that they can think of to do. However, they cannot do it. The public schools are supposed to be reporting when kids are not doing well and seem to be neglected or abused. If they want CHANGE, then CHANGE the system to make sure that all people get a life and start living it.
    make more after school and late night programs for them, whatever it is, get creative and use the ideas to keep them off the street, and even be productive., etc.

    They might be attacking us, but there’s a psychological, and historical basis. When a bunch of Jews moved to crown heights, the African-American community started to feel over-crowded. I’m by no means defending their actions, but it explains alot. It’s called revenge. Just like the palestinians, and the Israelies. (But we had it first, so they have NO right to attack us repetitively.)

    Very simple way to fix cameras at bais rivkah . Have some full paying parents withhold some money from tuition and turn in the receipts of the new or repaired cameras . After all a full paying parent would be very upset that the security of their children are being jeopardized!

    The Jewish community has been in CH for a VERY long time. My great great grandfather lived here in the early 1900’s. The black community has a long history here too (even longer- but most of the people here I would guess are not descendants of the original black community. Bottom line- who cares who pushed who? We all live here we all need to get along, and violence in children is a very big problem! If children are being violent, I squarely blame their community, schools, parents etc.

    I am blown away that the cameras don’t work.

    There is money to take vacations to tim-buk-to but no money to fix the darn cameras?? What does it cost? A few hundred? maybe 2-3K even to update….a drop in the bucket for so many here who HAVE kids in the school.

    Just totally really blown away with the incompetence!

    You guys need write a petition with thousands signatures and send to Bloomberg office while he is there.I’m father of this boy who was attacked by those black girls. You can’t put cameras on every corner in CH, but at least you can put them on those streets which kids are using to go to schools…..

    The city put up cameras to catch people going through a red light or speeding, so why cant they put up cameras in crown heights, I know why because that wont bring them in any mone

    The perps are either older than “13-16” or they are truants.
    No public school begins later than 9:00 a.m., and many begin much earlier, especially the junior and senior high schools.
    Someone should check that morning’s attendance records at the middle school on Empire (near the 71st pct.), as well as the middle school on East New York and Troy, and see if anyone matches the description with the red streaks and bangs, etc. And someone should also similarly check the attendance records at the 3-4 programs housed at Wingate High School, since, for this age group, these are the most likely schools that these perps should have been in at 9:15 a.m on a Monday.

    A few months ago, teen perps were caught with the cooperation of the office of one of these two middle schools (the incident where the young girl used her martial arts training), if I remember correctly. PS: This earlier incident fits in with the “knockout” pattern only being established now, a few months later.

    With DiBlasio’s inauguration on Jan. 1st, watch the chaos grow along with the public outbursts of anti-Semitism in New York. DiBlasio is much worse than David Dinkins was, and that is pretty bad. He is a revolutionary/ anarchist in terms of overthrowing the existing order to be replaced with a Marxist revolutionary order. How can Jews cope with such an Mayor! As his inauguration approaches watch outbursts of “disorder” increase, and when he becomes Mayor, he will simply allow it to become more chaotic. With his tendency toward Marxism, don’t expect him to have a zero tolerance policy toward wanton acts of hate against Jews. He will join in with the thugs by not actively cracking down on them…kind of like how Dinkins handled this over 20 years ago….except now the urban blight will be infinitely worse. Again, are you sure that your galut there in New York is so precious that you are willing to face these dangers? For your lives, LEAVE your precious galut on the eastern seaboard!!!
