Gunfire Strikes Jewish Car, Shomrim Recover the Slug

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Shots rang out late last night, and one of the bullets struck a minivan that was driven by a Jewish man. The incident startled many residents inside their homes, but none more than the driver whose rear window suddenly exploded and a bullet remained lodged in the roof liner of his car.

The incident took place on Lefferts Avenue right off the intersection of New York Avenue, just three blocks from the 71st Precinct stationhouse, at around 10:45pm.

Terrified, the driver called Shomrim who in turn called 911, and police responded within minutes.

“The bullet flew right over the baby’s car seat,” the shaken driver told CrownHeights.info, just moments after the incident. “Thank G-d I was alone in the car.”

“We heard a single shot followed by multiple shots, which sounded like it was coming from right behind our building” said one resident who lives right above the scene, “we ran to the window and saw a few people running away from where the shots rang out. It scared us to hear the shots so close to our home.”

Officers called for backup from the Emergency Services Unit for evidence recovery, and they found the bullet lodged in the minivan roof. The officers did not have the appropriate tools to recover the slug, and turned to Shomrim for assistance.

Local car shop owner, and Shomrim Coordinator, Aron Hershkop retrieved his tools and took apart the liner and recovered the bullet.

No crime scene was established, and police told Shomrim “no one got killed so it’s really no big deal”.

In surveillance video obtained by CrownHeights.info the terrifying scene unfolded, as the minivan drove off the side walk, suddenly a group of people are seen fleeing the sound of the shots. Mixed in with the group of bystanders were the shooter and his accomplices, also seen fleeing.

    in the video: the shooter is across the street.
    and BTW the cops found the bullet in like 20 seconds

    this was proof to me that this all fiasco with zaki and eli cohen is just a cover up for their failure.

    I saw what respect is between the NYPD and The SHOMRIM volunteers how nice they work together.

    if i had not seen this myself i would listen to the zaki propaganda but after watching a 20 min. video full of lies and deception i have to tel you CrownHeights.info you are the best you tell it just like it is and all the news manufacturers are exposed in this pictures.

    after six months in office not even as much as reporting to the community about what is going on. did we elect a rabbi? how much money is available for salary how much is owed to the current rabbis? who is the community representatives? and one very big question will be how many people pay the mas hakohol? that would be the real gauge how many are supporting the failure?

    with money i can’t disagree but i can bet that they are so few who actually paying this 15 dollar a month.

    the CHJCC is funded by the government to the tune of close to 3 million dollars what is done with the money?

    in the last six monthes mr Zaki Tamir spent close to 2 million dollars on what? payoffs to hate blogs to carry his message?

    see my friends we have more questions than answers and we are in 2010 almost 2011. how pathetic to see two lost souls concocting a story to cover up another story with was made up by another story?

    Time to take action against these chayos, And not wait till someone gets killed because I sure know the cops are not doing there job, well they are they are giving out tickets to people riding bikes and who are talking on sidewalks, GO NYPD!
