Senior Citizen Steals Schools Checks, Banking Material
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Motzai Yom Tov revealed a very disturbing scene for school administrators at Darchai Menachem, over Yom Tov one of their offices was broken into and the thief made out with tuition checks, now worth nothing after being canceled.
Security surveillance footage revealed that a Black elderly man, who walks with the aid of a cane and appears to be in his late 50’s, entered the building on Sunday morning at around 8:00am and left a short while later, then returned with a knife but without his cane and went to work.
Armed with his burglary tools he attempted to force the door of the principal’s office on the second floor, but was unsuccessful. He then returned to the first floor and managed to gain access to the bookkeeper and secretaries office, and after spending over five minutes in there he left with a large number of tuition head checks, and banking statements.
Police were called right away after Yom Tov, and while the initial responding officers were not sensitive to the incident, and the pretense that was involved in the case being Simchas Torah, the later investigating detectives were. A Crime Scene Unit was dispatched and dusted for fingerprints, and a technical unit obtained the surveillance footage.
Rabbi Chaim Perl, the school administrator, told CrownHeights.info that based on what he saw on the cameras it appears that the man lives in the area and hopes that someone will recognize him from the camera photos.
All parents were notified and instructed to cancel the checks.
If anyone recognizes this man they are urged to call the school and let them know at (718) 953-2919

Very surprized if he doesn’t have a previous conviction record and jail time.
One Flew Over
If he went to a Crown Heights Yeshiva looking to steal money he’s obviously a mental case.
wheres common sense
Why wasn’t the money in a safe? All sensitive and financia documents of any mossad/company should not be left out on a desk especially over yom tov. Imagine if it was enrollment papers with social security numbers on it.
