Attempted Break-in Friday Afternoon

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Friday afternoon, a woman preparing for Shabbos was startled when someone tried gain access to her house through the back door. The incident took place at 3:00pm, in the alleyway of Carroll and Crown St between Albany and Troy Ave.

Shomrim was called and responded with multiple members. Upon arriving at the location and canvasing the area; they spotted a girl trying to gain access to another home in the alleyway.

At first the Shomrim members thought she was just lost, and called the Police for assistance. Police arrived and spoke to her, but she did not cooperate and took her down to the station.

Later on in a conversation CrownHeights.info had with a Police detective, we were told; she is part of a gang of home burglars and she was apparently looking for a target.

CrownHeights.info would like to urge all residents to keep their doors locked at all times!
