Bochur Beaten By Black Man on Montgomery Street

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A 15-year-old Bochur was beaten for no apparent reason Tuesday evening. The incident happened on Montgomery Street between Kingston and Brooklyn Avenues at around 10:45pm.

The incident began and ended with a single powerful punch to the head of the Bochur from his assailant, a Black male who was described as well over 6 feet tall and in his mid 20’s. After the beating the Bochur fled to Kingston Avenue and called for help, police officers and bystanders jumped into action, ending with the arrest of the perpetrator.

As the Bochur ran to Kingston the suspect ran towards Brooklyn Avenue and was headed off by another Bochur on a bicycle at Brooklyn Avenue, the assailant turned around and attempted to flee in the other direction and ran right into the hands of police officers.

The Bochur told police that the attacker did not say a word to him and did not demand any money, he simply punched him square in the jaw and fled.

At the scene the Bochur did not seek medical attention, even though he did feel dizzy. Later that night the Hatzalah was called when he began feeling worse. He was transported to a local hospital for x-rays and further treatment.

what a shame things have to be like this. Maybe the man was schizophrenic. I would hate to think this was race based. I hoe this young man recovers quickly.

  • get rid of them now!

All the cops were watching the community council office, so no one was on the corner to watch out for our safety.

Hope the Bochur is OK. Same thing happened to my son a few years ago on his way home from OT. Response from the then-Vaad…NOTHING!

you see how we have police on every corner and more now, yet this could happen. I feel that its because the police took no stand in the years before, and this is the message that the lost people/criminals think, that they can do something like this.

  • Good timing

Fortunately the police were ready and not busy breaking up fights between Jews.

  • Enough is enough !

“They” see us fighting amongst ourselves and figure If the yidden can do it surely we could do it to them.

All I can say is I thought the people representing this “community”(if you could still call it that) were mature adults. Unfortunately time and again I am sadly proven wrong.

MAYBE for once put your personal agendas to the side and do the right thing.!!!

we all owe the new vadd hakall an apology.

it is only becuse they broke in to rabbi osdobas office and destroyed the offices etc, were there police right there and they were able to cathe the perp.

so we need to thank the vadd hakall becuse they had the foresight to do what they did. so that the police can be there for this incident.

    THANK YOU NEW VADD

Same type of thing happened to me about 10 years ago. I was walking on Eastern Parkway between Kingston & Albany and a young, black male came from behind and suddenly punched me in the side of the head, for no apparently reason. I never saw it coming. While he did shout “get outta my way” when he punched me, I had not been in his way. I chased him a little bit (I was a wrestler in high school and wanted to show him he had picked the wrong guy to hit), but then I hesitated when it looked like he was reaching into his pocket for something. A member of anash who was passing by and saw this said to me “it’s a good thing you stopped, I think he was reaching for a knife.” I watched where he was fleeing and flagged down a police car which was passing through the neighborhood from another precinct. The police drove me a few blocks to search for him where he had run past what is now Bank of America, but he had run as fast as he could when he saw the police car stop for me and he was not to be found.

maybe its time for berel sugat to organize another march in front of 770. We have been quite for too long. Especially now before summer when people are out later. We need to make a big stink out of it.

Refuah Shlaima to the Bachur first of all. Thank G-d for the Bachur on the bicycle and the police who are here to protect us from the animals surrounding us. No matter how much we have helped them they will always envy and hate us; they want to take out their frustrations and pain on us rather than work on themselves to grow out of their culture of violence, crime, and drugs. Having a president of their own kind is not going to be a magic pill.

At least the Perp was caught! It should teach a lesson not to do things in the middle of best part of town where it’s all Jewish. I wish it would teach more than that, but I’m afraid I’d be asking too much…lol. Refuah shalaima to the bochur!

I was petrified every night my boys were in Mesivtah that they should come home safe from Oholei Torah Troy. Isn’t it time there should be extra police protection (and shomrim patrols) at the time our precious boys go home at night? This is not the first time!! may HASHEM protect his children! Refuah Sheleima to the bochur!! thank G-d perpetrator was caught, thanks bochur on bike and police!
