Lubavitcher Attacked and Beaten on Friday Night in an Apparent Hate Crime

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A Lubavitcher yungerman was attacked and beaten by a group of Black teens on his way to Shul this past Shabbos, on Friday night.

The incident took place on Kingston Avenue between Park Place and Prospect Place which is in the confines of the 77th Precinct. The victim was walking from his home to Shul when he passed ‘Brower Park’ he was suddenly attacked from behind.

“I walked passed this group of kids who were sitting on the wall [fence] of the park, and they suddenly came at me from behind” he said, adding details of the attack “they grabbed me and spun me around, while one them hit me in my right eye with his elbow smashing my glasses into my face.”

The victim suffered from lacerations and cuts to his face from the blow, and was transferred to a local hospital for treatment. Police were notified and filed a police report.

The incident is being investigated as a hate crime.

    Most of the incidents I hear about are within blocks of 770, on the ”more Jewish” side of Eastern Parkway: President and Albany, New York Avenue and Eastern Parkway, Crown and Troy, etc.

    And R’ B.N. Hoffinger: don’t knock the outer reaches of Crown Heights until you have the facts! The Rebbe told a resident of President Street, between Utica and Rochester, to stay where they are — that those who expand the borders of Crown Heights are expanding the borders of Eretz Yisroel!
    And he bentched the Southern edges (past Lefferts) of Crown Heights, saying that it will ultimately become the CENTER of Crown Heights! That means we’re due for a LOT of expansion, in ALL directions. We have a brocha from the Rebbe to live in that area.

    Secondly The Rebbe, MH”M spoke about walking alone
    and it’s deficiencies.
    Thirdly, my daughter and son-in-law live on S. Johns and Utica were there are more people. There’s plenty of good African Americans around to help you and there’s also a surveillance camera.
    I live on Union and Schenectady and go to Frankel’s shul and there are a lot of people in this area.
    I also was almost mugged on two occasions. If you want to know what happened email me. I didn’t know Yidden lived so far north.

    Why is it that everytime something happens to a Jew by a non jew, it is labeled a hate or bias crime. To me, it is the same as crying “wolf’. The same thing happened on the same block to my sons friend not long ago. He is black and the offenders were black. The only hate in these crimes is the hate the offenders have for themselves that brings them to commit such crimes.
    Stop harboring hate. Treat crime as crime and stop introducing bias into the equation. It does nothing for the advancement of people breathe the same air, drink the same water and share this planet but keep us pigeon holed.
    We have much bigger enemies than each other.

    Listen fed up dude. I know as a fact that this guy was targeted b/c he was a Jew. If this wer just a normal mugging they wud have targeted some1 who looks like they mite have money on them. This was no mugging it was an attack against an innocent man for the pure reason that he is a Jew.
