CHJCC Announces Home Repair and Flood Recovery Assistance Initiative

The Crown Heights Jewish Community Council (CHJCC), in partnership with Kovac Non-Profit Consulting, is pleased to announce a new initiative to help homeowners identify and access available home repair, flood recovery, weatherization, and housing improvement funding opportunities.

Many homeowners are unaware that government programs may be available to assist with critical repairs, flood damage restoration, accessibility modifications, energy-efficiency upgrades, lead hazard remediation, roofing, heating systems, insulation, windows, and other home improvement needs.

As part of this initiative, CHJCC is compiling information on federal, state, city, utility, and nonprofit funding sources that may provide grants, forgivable loans, low-interest financing, or other forms of assistance for eligible homeowners.

“Home repairs can be costly, and many families delay needed work because they assume assistance is unavailable,” said Shmuly Rosenstein, Acting Chairman of CHJCC. “Our goal is to help residents understand what programs exist and connect them with resources that may help protect and improve their homes.”

Homeowners who have experienced flood damage or who are facing significant repair needs are encouraged to contact CHJCC to learn about available programs and upcoming funding opportunities.

To receive information, homeowners should provide:
• Name
• Property address
• Contact information
• Brief description of the repair, damage, or assistance needed
• Photos of the affected area, if available

CHJCC is proud to continue expanding services that help residents access resources, improve housing conditions, and strengthen the Crown Heights community.
