Crown Heights Voter Turnout Blows Past 2020 Historic Number

The historic voter turnout from the Crown Heights Jewish community was blown away this week with a 35% to 50% increase in participation, according to the Jewish Future Alliance.

“We are thrilled to see what appears to be the largest voter turnout in Crown Heights Anash history,” Rabbi Yaacov Behrman of the Jewish Future Alliance said. “While final numbers will be available once the names of those who voted are made public, and we cross-check the data with our database, preliminary estimates indicate a 35-50% increase in participation over the 4,438 voters in 2020.”

The importance of the Crown Heights vote has been highlighted in recent years in local elections, including the highly contested election for NYC Mayor, with Crown Heights providing a crucial vote.

In advance of the election this week, the Jewish Future Alliance made a concerted effort to bring out the voters and succeeded in historic ways.

Rabbi Behrman gave special thanks to the people who assisted him in the effort, saying, “A special thank you to our community elders, whose message on the importance of voting inspired so many, and to every individual who took the time to make their voice heard.”

“Congratulations to all the candidates who have won their elections yesterday,” Rabbi Behrman said. “We wish you much success and Hatzlacha in service to the country, city, state, and district you represent. May your leadership bring positive change, growth, and progress to the communities you serve.”
