Birthday Farbrengen Becomes Show of Unity

Hundreds of ‘Kvutzeh’ students, teachers and members of Anash gathered for a special Hakhel and birthday Farbrengen in the Crown Heights Kollel. Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky was among those who Farbrenged; he revealed some of the Rebbe’s feelings about the phenomenon of Kvutzeh, and delivered a scathing admonition of the Hanhala of Tomchei Temimim-770.

The Farbrengen was held Monday night in the Kollel on Kingston Avenue in connection with the birthday of Hatomim Shmaya Goodman, who along with his brother Levi are the victims of a relentless terror campaign by ‘Tzfatim,’ including a vicious beating, a number of robberies and continued incitement by a group of former Kvutzeh students who still reside in the 749 dormitory.

Attending the Farbrengen was Rabbi Schenur Zalman Goodman, Shliach of the Rebbe in Ashdod, Israel, Rabbi Shlomo Zarchi, member of Hanalah of Kvutzeh, Rabbi Zev Katz, Gabbai in 770, and Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, one of the Rebbe’s mazkirim.

The Farbrengen began with the reciting of the rebbe’s kapitel, followed by words from Rabbi Zarchi describing the events of Yud Shvat, 5726, when the Rebbe called upon bochurim to increase in learning. This was followed by a special presentation of a newly-released video of the Rebbe.

Not mincing words, Rabbi Yehudah Krinsky spoke next and at length about the terrible lack of oversight in the Yeshiva, and lack of background checks into the Bochurim who are allowed to come from Israel to Kvutzeh.

Below is a synopsis of Rabbi Krinsky’s speech:

The truth is that it’s a terrible situation unlike any, that the hands of Esav, in the Rebbe’s Beis Medrash, prevent those who built the Shul and Davend there for many years from going in.

There was an incident a number of years ago where I had to say kadish after a mother who passed away without children. I went in to daven Mincha with a minyan; in the middle of Shomne Esrei a Bochur picked up a chair and threw it at me, and Avrohom Fried stopped it.

We are in court for almost ten years to get 770 back, and we hope that it will end soon and it will be a Didan Notzach.

For many years I spoke with Hanhala of the yeshiva and I requested of them – the Rebbe wrote a letter many years ago that he does not see any benefit that bochurim are coming from Eretz Yisroel etc., and he wasn’t happy with it – I asked Hanhala that at the very least if they want to bring students from Eretz Yisroel and places around the world they have to check who they are.

I know that representatives from the girls’ seminarys in Eretz Yisroel and Australia and others come to New York and meet with the potential future students, they check their records and time-keeping and Midos from previous schools, and not everyone is accepted.

I asked kvutzeh if they do this; they said ‘yes we do.’ You do? You go to Israel and check up on the bochurim and speak with Hanhala and check the shmiras hasdorim? Or do they say that they are good bochurim and that is okay?

There are precious bochurim here for all over the world that are learning, but if there is one bad apple it can spoil the entire batch.

It is the same story year after year; throughout the years we wanted to build and make the situation better, and I want to know what is with these bochurim that come here and make trouble.

This is not a war with just one bochur. It is a war with G-d. Ad Mosai? When will yeshiva straighten itself out and follow a proper seder and follow the will of the Rebbe? They are bringing it upon themselves! How can we place such obstacles r”l? The Rebbe spoke about these hands of Eisav. What are we doing about this?

If someone can explain it to me why it has to continue like this, day after day, month after month, year after year, please do. What will change?

Last to speak was Rabbi Chaim Boruch Halberstam, telling bochurim to listen and watch sichos and farbrenges of the Rebbe, and to become accustomed and used to the language of Yiddish.

The Farbrengen continued into the early hours of the morning.

  • Nice to see!!

Chassidishe bachurim, the kind I want for my granddaughters.

Rabbi Krinsky was preaching to the choir. Only Rabbi Zarchi from 770 was there to hear him – it’s Labkowsky & all his cohorts who need to acknowledge the terrible state that dorm and the Yeshiva are in. They know, but they encourage the violence. After all, the thugs scream Yechi so it’s OK. And please, don’t say it has nothing to do with moshichisten – it has everything to do with them. How many of the 770 thugs are NOT moshichisten? Seriously???

  • Elephant in the room!!!

Rabbi Shloime Zarchi, has the power to revoke and or not grant, the student visas.

    ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!

  • Time to make room for the USA Bochurim

Why is labkowsky harboring students from Middle East , he doesn’t stand a chance to give a shiur in English , or have dialog with American boys , he is not shayich to stand up against the troublemakers since he will be out of a job .
Why does American boys have to pay ten thousand – fifteen thousand dollars to travel to kiryat Gat when the Rebbe Yeshivah is right here ?

770 needs overhauil of Gaboim- TIME FOR ELECTIONS

Why is their no elections for Gaboim in 770?
Just because CHJCC has no elections even thought its past due by years. 770 should not suffer and overhaul is needed and terror must stop.
Rabbi Krinsky you should have arichas Yomim veshanim tovim
Yad of True chassidim will be on top (ol Elyoana)
We want Moshiach and the Rebbes shul back now!!!

  • Ultimatum

Give the yeshiva 24 hours to hand over the bullies or go to court to through them out of 770.

Its all about the bottom line and the bottom line is always about three things…

    MONEY

    MONEY

    and

    MONEY!!!

There is a lot of money to be made with these overseas students.

FYI, many of these “students” are not students and don’t even know what Parsha it is this week.

Middle East????? How can you not specify Eretz Yisroel by name???? Im ayn ani li, mi li?

    • Chaim

Spewing hate? Are you talking about the Meshichistim? It sound that way…

After all,the Bochurim participating in this (above) Farbarngen are not the ones violently beating others who don’t agree with their point of view.

In your twisted (hateful mind) you see “hate”, please explain (from your point of view) what specifically was said that is Spewing Hatred

  • Very probable Source

This seems to be the source to what Rabbi Krinsky was saying:

In Ymei Tmimim (v4 p271), in connection to the Talmidei HaKvutzeh’s traveling to the Rebbe from Pesach time (as they would some years for a half-year, or beginning their year from Pesach), the Rebbe responded to the hanhala of Kfar Chabad (via telegram – apparently for the urgency!) very sharply (7 Nissan 5730):
תמוהה ומוזרה השמועה כאילו לא הזהירו כל אחד ממש מהתלמידים הרוצים לנסוע לכאן שזה תלוי בהחלטתם התקיפה ללמוד כאן בהתמדה וביראת שמים ובהנהגה חסידותית, ובוודאי יזהירו עתה ויודיעני בטח.

Needless to say, Rabbi Efroyim Volff reported to the Rebbe that same week (as printed there as well), that we spoke with each Talmid and cautioned them as per the Rebbe’s directives in the telegram.

    The words speak for themselves!

You can’t have elections of Gabboim
    without n’tzigim.
And you won’t have n’tzigim because of the
machlokes of Korach and his group, if you know
    what I mean.
