Ba’alei Batim Pledge to Support Tishrei Guests

On Monday evening, a meeting was held with the attendance of several Lubavitcher Askanim and Baalei Batim, with the stated purpose of getting people more involved in the Hachnosas Orchim activities of the Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim Ha’olami.

Crown Heights businessman Avremel Lokshin, who hosted the meeting at his home, agreed to spearhead the efforts, along with his brother Nachman.

Also present at the meeting was Yossi Popack, a Lubavitcher businessman from The Five Towns, who generously supports the cause of Hachnosas Orchim in Crown Heights during the month of Tishrei.

The highlight of the meeting was when Rabbi Y.Y. Yeruslavsky, Chief Rabbi of Kiryat Malachi, Israel, presented a letter that the Rebbe wrote to his father, Reb Moshe Ze’ev Yeruslavsky, who was the founder and long-time director of Hachnosas Orchim for the guests to came to spend Tishrei with the Rebbe.

In the letter, the Rebbe extols the virtues of the Mitzvah of Hachnosas Orchim, and gives Reb Moshe much encouragement to continue in his activities.

A video presentation was shown, in which Reb Moshe Yeruslavsky can be seen receiving Lekach from the Rebbe, as well as preparing and distributing food to hungry guests in the old Kolel building.

The original letter was given to Avremel Lokshin as a token of appreciation for his commitment to this monumental undertaking.

Some people better be prepared to receive some threatening, harassing and intimidating phone calls from the Mendel Hendel Meshichist Mossrim faction of Crown Heights.

How dear these individuals (above) think they can help others without Mendel Hendel, don’t they know there is a limit to doing Chesed?

  • a question to Crown Heights

It’s really wonderful. But there are hundreds of families in Crown Heights who don’t have money for a ticket to EY or France, who don’t have money to shop in J&R or Century 21 and who can’t feed their families year round. I am not chas v’sholom criticizing these generous people’s resources into feeding & hosting these guests, but I have a question.

Why are we ALL not continually supporting CSSY & Shimshon’s OBM mission of taking care of OUR OWN NEIGHBORS? Every time there’s a short term crisis or urgency, there’s a positive reaction – we really do care and we come through. We can’t forget about the single parents, the unemployed, the disabled and the poor. I can’t give a lot, but I give.

This is awesome. Thank you to all of the supporters and Avrohom Lokshin and Menachem Minsky especially.

  • A New Era

This is the news we’ve all been waiting for. This is what they call a “game-changer.” B”H! This will be good for the shechuna and good for Chabad all over the world.

Couldn’t agree more, 100% right, have been saying the same thing and more for years.

There is no reason for anybody to come to Crown Heights to spend an entire month here. I understand someone who really really wants and has to come (and can afford it), coming to spend either Rosh Hashona, Yom Kipper and/or Simchas Torah at the Ohel. But a whole month to hang out on the streets of Crown Heights, boys and girls, buying and selling, for what? It’s a waste of time and money!

Currently they are here and I’m glad they now have a proper structure where they can learn, get rides to the Ohel, eat and sleep.

  • nice

If they Di a better job then Hendel then it will be a success. I hear from bochrim that the living conditions is really bad however the girls have ashel that’s better. Its a big loss of money for hendel but he has drizin u never know what he will come up with to take control

How about support in CH for CH residents who live here year round like myself who can’t afford the rising costs of Yomtov?
Aniyei Ircho Kodem – why help guests before residents!?!?
