Why did they have to Daven in the Hallways?

No, it was not an early jump on Pesach cleaning, he observed; it was a group of no more than ten Bochurim dancing to blasting music in the main Shul, inhibiting people from Davening inside the Shul.

  • Don-t be stupid!

Don’t you know 770 is a playground, why are you asking stupid questions, and Kuti Rapp is the Morah and he was (self) elected to run it.
And that’s it, and if you want to daven, you just have to go somewhere else.

  • Whatever

Oh G-D, there is no real solution for this problem. (besides of course Moshiach)

  • yitzchok

why focus on the negative. I don’t agree with many things these Bachurim do but why cause cotroversy for no reason it will not accomplish anything.

  • paro

those pesky chasidim still think its the month of simcha . we’ll show them who controls the press

  • An upside down world

sine when is dancing more important than letting people daven in their proper plce inside the shul?
Has Crown Heights lost its collective mind completely??
What an example we are to the world! What an upside down lantern we carry!!!

  • From 770, WE are marching OUT!

these “bochurim” have been there for years. Why? Without being hateful, arrogant or sinos-chinom.
I presume these young mens leadership and mashpim might be taking these guys for a ride, and they are therefore dancing round in circles.

Get these guys going to be productive or at least treatment. But alas, there will be no treatment if they don’t recognize the disease.

  • Resident

thats the problem. these people think its their shul to do as they wish when they wish how they wish and to whom they wish!! its about time the CH community get behind merkos and throw these people out and bring 770 back to normal!!!

  • to paro (Am Huarets)

Its a known fact that the simcha of ador goes untill we stop sayeng the nusi (besides that this is what the Rebbe holds this is what it states in Shulchon Aruch

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO TURN OFF THE OFF BUTTON?????
If the switch was turned off the music would automatically stop and u would be able to hear yourself think. I don’t understand where were the Rabbonim allowing this to happen?????? Isn’t 770 the headquarters of Lubavitch???????? How DARE the shul cannot be used because no one could turn offfffffffff the music.

  • anonymous

what is anyone doing about it? talk is cheap! time to see some action!!!

  • an observation of amalek

    What’s your point?

They didn’t “blare” the music during the regular minyan for maariv – they were having an organized event after thier seder and at a time when most people would (should) have davened already. So I ask you – AGAIN, what’s your point?
Would you walk into a wedding hall, where there is blasting music and tell the musician – STOP PLAYING!!! I have to daven!? NO, you go to another area and daven where there is no music and disturbing sounds to bother you.
Also, are you aware of the fact that there are minyonim all over 770!? Under balconies, under stairs, ON stairs, in hallways, upstairs, downstairs, on porches, etc. Does this really bother you too, or are you just really ticked off that these guys are b’simcha – and YOU are not?!

  • ms

why doesnt anyone just ask and explain that they should do it later. Clearly they didnt realze the extent of their dancing caused.Hashem created everyone with chamah binah and das.

this is the reason 770 is emptying out and new shul are poping up….what can i say this is a disgrace. send these guys back where they came from.

AL TIFROSH MIN HATZIBUR. The rest of the frum world thinks we’re flaked out. At best, they respect the Rebbe but they think that we’ve lost our senses and they wonder what we’re really up to.
Its funny that these people are doing this and that they feel they finally have found a way to be leaders.
We have to be me’arech ourselves, do we need to be a leader, or a chossid? Someone from out of Crown Heights told me that the frum world mostly doesnt take Chabad seriously unless its the shluchim. Because the shluchim generally have proper social skills and act respectably, knowing that they represent the Rebbe. Don’t tell me that this 770 stuff could have happened when the Rebbe was here b’guf goshmi……

Trivia Question: What’s worse? is it,
    A – DISRUPTING PRAYERS
B – GOSSIPING ABOUT THOSE WHO DISRUPT PRAYERS
or C – BELITTLING ONESELF TO COMMENT ON A BLOG WHO’S EDITORS LACK THE BRAIN CAPACITY NECESSARY TO HOME THAT LITTLE THING WE CALL “COMMONSENSE” WHICH GOD IN HIS GREAT WISDOM INSTILLED WITHIN US, HIS CREATIONS SO THAT WE MAY RECOGNIZE DIRTY LAUNDRY AND KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT, I.E. – LEAVE IT IN THE BASKET?

  • D L

Even though I thinks it is wrong to blast Music in the Shul; but why do we have to post these things online. Many people read these articles just so they have something to say against Chabad and we are feeding their hobby.

  • Yosef Yitzchak

Sorry to say this–but all the Crown Heights residents arwe at fault here.

When the Crown Heights residents decided to turn on Rabbi Hodakov (in the ’80s) and then on Rabbi Krinsky (in the ’90s) and creating an “independent”-from-Lubavitch entity called “Vaad Hakohel” or “Crown Heights” or “Gabboim”–they wrote a destroyed the Rebbe’s shul and brough worldwide disgrace to Lubavitch.

The only way to correct this now is to collectively apologize to the Rebbe and make a massive collective request from Merkos to retake the shul and back the request with 1,000 signatures.

  • chabad

Do you remember What the Rebbe Said:
The Rebbe Said dancing in the month of Adar will remove all the bad things of Adar

  • tzfatim

    Un-believable!

Wait, what am I talking about?
    This is the “tzfatim”.
    With them, anything is believable.

Unfortunately, they do what they do and our lack of authority doesn’t resolve the issues that they create.
    n’eNow!

  • Thanks

I think the dancing is beutiful exzactly what the rebbe wanted and so onece in a while you have to go outside and daven thank u whoever arnges it

  • levi

i dont think ANYONE thinks this is normal…..my question is why did YOU post it…what do u expect to acomplish? everyone knows the problem the only outcome of this post will be fights and sinas chinom (but i guess that makes a good story for you so why not???????)

  • bored

all ways finding somthing to complain about
why are you davening mariv so late anyway

  • Yankel

This is kuti Rapp`s doing and the gaboim supporting this nonsense. It is outrageous that in a Bais Hamedrarh were people should learn and davin, we have to go out of Shul so that some 10-15 people could dance. There are hundreds of people that come to Shul every night to learn and davin and can`t because of this. This goes on the whole month of Adar, some days in Nissan, when the new kevutza comes, when a bochurs brother gets married is Israel they celebrate the wedding here and some other days. If they feel the dancing is so important and it must be done in 770,(not in a hall) there is a large room in the basement of 770 were they can dance all night and not disturb anyone. This room is big enough to accommodate all the dancers.

  • Mordechai

What was that Merkos court case all about? Wasn’t Merkos going to kick out the loonies and take down the carnival signs?

  • The guadians of the Rebbe-s Shul

This is a video of the true hasidim who keep the spirit of the rebbe mhm shuli ALIVE. Not the MENUBALIM like the ANTIS who want to turn it into some sterile “COMMUNITY” the way it was before 5750’s http://www.youtube.com/watc

  • antimesira

It’s simple, they have the full rights to do what they want, when they want. They have the right to make a Chillul Hashem, when they want. They have the right to viciously beat other Yiddin up, whenever they want. They even (including the above) have the full right and approval of the Mishichist party to do Mesira. They have no worries, as far as the Mishichist party is concerned, these guys are covered, they will always be justified and excused.

If g-d forbid we say something, then were noch the Haters etc…
Those days of intimidating us with propaganda not to speak up, are over. We will say what needs to be said and we will say it loadly. We will DO what needs to be done and WE will do it right!

  • sickened

It’s not a kids rally! Do they think the Rebbe would love blasting music? Oh, but I forgot, these cultist DON’T THINK! They just blindly follow all the Mishugassen of their leaders.

What makes me livid is the do-nothing attitude of people like Rabbi Krinsky who, after winning all the court cases that say Aguch owns the building, just let these sick people continue taking over the Shul.

I know people say it will cause a civil war in 770 if they do try to get rid of them, but every balabusteh knows, to make an omelet you have to break eggs.

Cut these diseased parts out so the healthy ones can grow.

  • out of towner

crown heights obviously has some politics that it needs to take care of, but why does ‘CHABAD on line'(col) let comments on that has inappropriate language???????? is this what chabad has come to???? profanity needs to be be used to prove a point?????

  • steve

Just think of all the problems that have come from “yechi” and then try to show me the positive.
    * eating on Tisha B’av.
    * Making it very difficult for shluchim to do their job.
    * casting lubavitch in the world as a bunch of freaks.
    * 770 is in a hostage situation.
    * Families are fighting over it.
    * Denial of reality.

Before “yechi” started, none of theabove existed (albeit a few who didnt like lubavitch) but not like it is these days. Dont tell me about mashpiim because the holy grail – te US dollar works in strane ways. the acceptance of these so called exceptable people is unacceptable.

I am still looking for the good and dont tell me its that people are talking about moshiach. Its more like people talking about were we as lubavitchers have strayed of the path and have lost our minds.

  • pettiness

You people are an absolute embaressemen, not the dancers, but you petty people that are so board to make an issue out of nothing.
Of course it is not easy to daven when there is background noise, and of course we believe that davening in the shul is a priority over dancing, but so what. Get over your need to bash the bochurim, that soiunds so petty and childish, my goodness.
After all, the Rebbe did say that Adar should be a month of simcha. You could wonder, perhaps, why they extend it throughout the year, but c’mon.
This is 770 and it’s not new, so why stire the pot for no good reason. Grow up.

  • Racheli

I like the petition idea of commenter YY.

Let’s get 1,000 signatures of Crown Heights residents and bring to Merkos and Agudas Chabad. This way they will know that they have the people behind them.

  • Another Shul Davener in CH

Yosef Yitzchok at 4:08 is right on to a T! What an utterly embarrasing shame. I long ago refuse to go back to 770 -what do I tell my son? What does a father tell his son? Really ?

Will all the misguided folks who SIGNED that INFAMOUS declaration please pray…what exactly did you accomplish? By signing on years ago – you in reality gave a finger perhaps and the lunatic masses took a hand! Misguided and stupid and you’ll go down in shame as this is your fault too!

I am reffering to some MAJOR names on that stupid declaration a chilul lubabvitch to no end!

    For shame!

Do you blame them now for dancing on like this? I actually do NOT! Its not there fault!

  • laundry needs cleaning

yes! all the bad things of adar were removed! just like the REBBE SAID!

shomrim were vindicated from the vicious messira these misshechistim did to them. normal people are denied from davening a shul, because of dancing. whats there not to love?! lets say yechi together and everything is good!!!

Leaving dirty laundry in the basket only leads it to smelling worse over time, and you running out of clean cloths to wear. DIRTY LAUNDRY DOESN’T CLEAN ITSELF!

it is absurd that when 4 people decide to make more then two minyanim daven in the hallways because of their self fulfilling need to dance after adar is over at 11 at night. mayleh if there were 20+ dancing i would understand, but this is nutz.

  • Sara

Maybe petition the Yeshiva too (Labkowsky, Zarchi) to rid themselves of their mentor and guide Kuti Rapps.

  • no talking

a shul should be qiute, with no talking as the alter Rebbe said in Tanya…vahamvin yovin.

  • You are all wrong!

Ok everyone, get a hold of yourselves… I don’t see what the big fuss is about! don’t you know the din in shulchan oruch siman alef se’if alef – “hakol mutar, hakol machul…” now when you read the end of the se’if there is just one condition “Rak Tagid Yechi”

and as Rabbi Akivah said – “zeh klal godol batorah, v’idach pirusha hee”

Now based on that bible, these guys are doing absolutely noting wrong – they just say “Yechi” and the torah, shulchan oruch or anything else “Jewish” doesn’t exist! but this doesn’t matter because “Jewish” is the Sitra Acher of Mishichistim, so these guys are doing whats right – they are pushing away the “Sitrah Achra”.

And how dare anyone write something against what they are doing? “THE REBBE TOLD THEM TO!!!” – 770 is not like a beis hamedrash or beis hakneses where there are dinim as to how you have to have respect for it, this is a disco hall, and so what if some people daven there, does that give them a right to tell people not to dance there? Comon’ whats wrong with all you people – you are going against the rebbe, the rebbe wanted dancing in 770 not davening and learning – and whats more, the rebbe wanted simcha B’li Gvul, and taking drugs makes you happy, so I think that the Gaboim should start giving out drugs – that’s what the rebbe wants! (which by the way – when yu take that stuff if you are truly chassidish like the yellow flaggers, then you really see the rebbe – I’m telling you it really works!)

this is just the tip of the iceberg – YECHI HAMELECH! YECHI HAMELECH! YECHI HAMELECH!

(whew now that I wrote it 3 times, I can go masser someone, beat someone up and… what else should I do for the 3rd Yechi – any suggestions?)

  • DANCING?????????????

In tof shin nun beis which these guys officialy are very into the rebbe says there that marbin besimcha in adar is through adding in the learning of torah!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • You-re right!

Absolutely! It’s assur to dance. It’s assur to listen to music. It’s assur to be b’simcha! It’s assur to follow the Rebbe’s hoaros.

Get off the internet and go shteig. Or help your wife/mother prepare for Shabbos.

and note that the dancing started at 11 PM. What time is Maariv again?

  • Re: One Flew over The Cuckoo-s Nest

Well said! LMAO! Dunno if anyone else here caught that.

  • Avrami

    To Levi:
    Sinas Chinom?
Holding a community hostage is not good enough reason?
If such dancing is a tenet of the late Lubavithcer Rebbe’s why isn’t this “minhag” incorporated by all other Lubavitchers’?

  • not happy

i dont dissagree with the dancing (it was the rebbe’s inyon) but if there are only 10 buchrim it shouldint disturb the misspalelim

  • AHY SIMON

There was not More than 5 dancers .
many times i went to 770 at 11pm or later just to lern or daven maariv and allways i see normal people lerning the rambam or chitas or a sicha .
this lowlifes (A person of low social status or moral character) are taking ownership with just 5 that belong in mental institution and the music blast .
the first normal behavior would be if you want to dance it may be ok . dance and sing .and let another person daven .
but the goal of the cult is to take over to dictate to YOU what you can and cant do.
like this story of the maschchissim in israel.
read this link and understend what maschchissim are.

    http://www.ynet.co.il/artic

my dear friends its time to get real.
maschchissim have nothing to do with the MOSHIACH.

  • King David said about these people

    (10) “For forty years I quarreled with that generation; and I said, ”They are a people of erring hearts, they do not know my ways.” (11) So I vowed in my anger that they would not enter my resting place.

  • Crown Heights Resident

Does anyone realize that These Bochrim are dancing after learning seder. Just for 1/2 hour every night during Adar. And only because the Rebbe said dancing in the month of Adar will remove the bad things from Adar.

  • Jabadnikim for Jewdaism...

770 has been turned into a church by these messianic Christians.

It is up to every individual crown heights resident to put an end to it and stop trying to appease these anti lubavitch anti semitic Christians.

And for the record – YES – Messianism = Christianity!

  • So they-re happy!

So the buchurim are having some Kosher fun! Big deal!

Why does everything have to be a us vs. them fight???

There is no doubt that at certain times of the day throughout the entire week, including Shabbos and Yom Tov, 770 feels like it is hefker and anyone can do asher yoshor b’eynov.
Whether this is good or not depends on how much one cares about the effects it has on the general community worldwide.
Some Shluchim are very hesitant on bringing guests to the shul downstairs and perhaps with good reason.
However it must be said that there are also very inspiring moments during a Shabbos daveing etc.
