1,000 at Menorah Lighting in Amsterdam’s Dam Square
This year, once again, over one thousand people attended the annual menorah lighting in Amsterdam’s Dam Square; located in front of the royal palace, it is the most famous square in Holland.
For the first time, the new Israeli ambassador to the Netherlands Mr. Chaim Divon attended; he was very impressed and spoke very warmly to the Jewish community.
The mayor of Amsterdam spoke as well, then lit the shamash, while the Israeli ambassador lit the rest of the candles.
The event was organized by shliach to Amsterdam Rabbi Menachem Evers, and was attended by many members of the Jewish community, including various Rabbis and leaders.
