Army Truck Spreads Light of Chanukah in Manchester
On Wednesday december 21 – the 2nd night of chanukah Rabbi Peretz and Chavi Chein of Chabad of Cheadle, UK organised their annual chanukah lighting in the Sainsbury’s and John Lewis Mall.
The event was attended by local dignitaries, including the Lord Mayor & Mayoress of Stockport.
The event was a huge success with over 200 people attending; the store manager of sainsburys, Mr. David Gaffin, said at the event “its a pleasure to support lubavitch and I’m proud to be a Jew;” the store also kindly donated all the refreshments!
This was all followed by the South Manchester Menorah Parade, which was bigger this year than ever – with over 20 cars! It was lead by a distinctive ex-army truck outfitted with a giant menorah & driven by truck driver Moshe Rothstein, speakers and lights!
