Over 10,000km Traveled Down Under Spreading Chanukah Joy!

Chabad of RARA celebrated ten years of full time operation with ten Chanukah parties around the country. In Darwin and Cairns, Townsville and Coffs Harbour, Port Maquarie and Wollongong, Nowra and Newcastle, Palmerston and Geelong; Channukah celebrations were held for the local communities.

Over 10,000 kilometers were travelled across four states and hundreds of Menorahs, doughnuts and dreidels were distributed to bring the light of Chanukah to remote, rural and regional Australia.

Strains of Maoz Tzur and Haneiros Hallalu wafted over the outback as the candles struggled to stay upright in the tropical heat of the Northern Territory. The flooding in NSW didn’t stop the RARAmobile from visiting the Jews scattered over the eastern seaboard. Children and adults alike participated in activities and games at the Geelong Channukah party. It took three nights, two parties, and three and a half thousand kilometres for Chabad of RARA to light up far north Queensland”
