A Runner, A Connector, and A Builder Of The Team
Every great tradition grows because of the people who believe in it, bring others along and help build something bigger than themselves.
In 2016, Chanan Feldman joined the International Minyan for Jewish Marathoners through J-Runners, and over the years has become an integral part of the team.
As a marathoner himself, Chanan understands the dedication, preparation, excitement and nerves that come with taking on 26.2 miles.
But his contribution goes far beyond running.
Chanan has been instrumental in growing the team, bringing people together and introducing others to the minyan. Through his connections in the running community, he helped bring people like Yisroel and Yanky into the fold, both of whom have become valuable members of the team.
That’s one of Chanan’s special contributions: recognizing the people who would connect with this mission and helping bring them on board.
Over the years, those connections have strengthened the team, welcomed new faces and helped ensure that the minyan continues to grow.
The minyan is about much more than showing up on marathon morning. It’s about the people who build relationships, create connections and turn a gathering into a community.
Chanan has been doing exactly that since 2016.
Thank you, Chanan, for your dedication, your friendships and for helping build not just a minyan, but a team and a family.
Because sometimes the greatest distance we help someone cover isn’t the 26.2 miles of the marathon, but the distance between being a stranger and becoming part of a community.
