NYPD Officials Meet With Kinus Organizers To Review Security Plans
As Crown Heights prepares for the arrival of thousands of Shluchim next week, Kinus organizers met with senior NYPD officials to review security plans and coordinate police coverage throughout the neighborhood.
Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, director of the Kinus, opened the meeting with an overview of the security preparations being put in place for the Kinus, including coverage around major venues and high-traffic areas in Crown Heights.
Rabbi Schneur Nejar, Kinus coordinator, also addressed the group, presenting the Kinus schedule, key locations, and operational details to help police coordinate their presence around the busiest points of the week.
The meeting, held at the Jewish Children’s Museum, included representatives from the 71st and 77th Precincts, Brooklyn South, and the NYPD Counterterrorism Bureau.
Organizers and police officials discussed the expected movement of Shluchim throughout Crown Heights, traffic and crowd considerations, and security needs surrounding the week’s major events and gatherings.
The annual coordination comes as preparations intensify across Crown Heights, with local institutions, Kinus organizers, and law enforcement working together ahead of the influx of Shluchim.
“We are extremely grateful to the members of the NYPD for their continued partnership in ensuring the safety of the thousands of Shluchim and community leaders gathering in New York for the Kinus,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky. “We look forward to welcoming Shluchim from around the world for a week of learning, inspiration, and renewed commitment to the communities they serve.”
Security and logistical preparations are expected to continue throughout Crown Heights in the days leading up to the Kinus.
