Do You Know What Happened 200 Years Ago?
In shloshim yom, on 10 Kislev, we will be commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Mitteler Rebbe’s chag hage’ulah.
The Mitteler Rebbe embodied Chassidus to the point that his very life force and energy was defined as Chassidus.
In honor of this momentous anniversary, join Rabbi Shmuel Wagner, as he teaches the Mitteler Rebbe’s fundamental ma’amar of Padah Beshalom.
Found in the Mitteler Rebbe’s sefer Sha’arei Teshuva (the first sefer of his own ma’amarim that he sent to print!), this landmark ma’amar lays the groundwork for all the subsequent Padah Beshalom ma’amarim – arguably the most common dibbur hamaschil throughout Chassidus!
Beginning with a brief history of the Mitteler Rebbe’s arrest and liberation, and the context of this sefer and this ma’amar, Part 1 launches into Perek Alef, where the Mitteler Rebbe analyzes the physical imagery of two enemies wrestling, highlighting the ironic paradox of two polar opposites uniting in the strongest bond possible. This provides a crucial insight into the war of the two souls during Davening, emerging with a fascinating conclusion that specifically when one has machshavos zaros during Davening does one know that he is optimally utilizing the opportunity of this special experience!
The shiurim can be found on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, and 24Six, under “Chassidus Explained”, where hundreds of listeners enjoy, as one listener describes it, “A ma’amar with Rabbi Wagner is simply different than any other method”.
Currently in its 5th year, with over 130 shiurim on close to 50 ma’amarim, Chassidus Explained is set out to be “Chassidus that Speaks Your Language!” With an emphasis on clarity and relevance, each shiur spends time explaining the pesukim, topics, and concepts discussed in the maamar, in a thorough, yet concise manner. Using the historical context of when it was said, each ma’amar is introduced with a comprehensive backdrop, infusing an extra dose of excitement and insight to the chidush and toichen of the ma’amar itself.
As we enter 30 days before this historic Yud Kislev, fulfill the Mitteler Rebbe’s wish by rekindling your passion for Chassidus with an enjoyable weekly shiur!
