Photographer Captures Sukkos Joy and Mivtzoim Across Paris

The streets of Paris came alive with the joy of Sukkos as Chabad activities brought the spirit of the Yom Tov to Jewish communities throughout the city.

A collection of photographs by Mordechai Lubecki, captures the vibrant Sukkos atmosphere, including Simchas Beis Hashoevah gatherings, dancing and the many Mivtzoim taking place throughout the French capital.

The celebrations began with a large Simchas Beis Hashoevah event at Chabad of Flandre on Motzei Shabbos, with Rabbi Levi Azimov and Rabbi Mendel Azimov participating in the festivities.

On Monday evening, the Sukkos celebrations continued at Place de la République and Place de la Bastille, where dancing and holiday celebrations were held with Rabbi Levi Azimov, Rabbi Binyamin Margi, Rabbi Daniel Gabai and Rabbi Mendel Azimov.

Alongside the celebrations, Chabad activists were busy bringing the mitzvos of Sukkos directly to Jews throughout the city as part of Mivtza Lulav.

A special Sukkah vehicle, led by Rabbi Shlomo Ben-Shushan, traveled through the streets of Paris, allowing Jewish residents and passersby to fulfill the mitzvah of shaking the Lulav and Esrog. Additional Mivtza Lulav activity took place throughout the Paris Metro system, where Jews were offered the opportunity to perform the mitzvah.

At 17 Rue des Rosiers — the Rebbe’s shul in Paris — Mivtza Lulav and Sukkah activities were led by Rabbi Yisroel Lubetzky.

The photographs offer a glimpse into the tremendous Sukkos activity taking place across Paris, as Chabad brings the joy and mitzvos of Yom Tov to Jews wherever they may be.
