New Kollel L’Lomdei Dach Track Tackles Bitachon and Hishtadlus

A Shliach weighing whether to make one more fundraising call. A businessman deciding how much to hold back for a rainy day. A parent deciding how much to worry. The question underneath all of it is the same one: where does making a natural vessel end, and where does real bitachon begin?

That question is now a full learning track. Kollel L’Lomdei Dach, a division of Merkos 302, has announced Bitachon & Hishtadlus as its upcoming sugya, a structured study of the Rebbe’s sichos and maamarim alongside foundational texts of Chassidus, working through the line between effort and reliance.

“Chassidus isn’t an inspiration you reach for when things get hard,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, director of Merkos 302. “It’s the way a Yid is supposed to see the world every ordinary day. Someone who has internalized what bitachon actually means makes different decisions and carries themselves differently than one who has only heard the word. That is what this Kollel is building.”

Now in its third year, the Kollel is structured around that kind of depth. Participants commit to one central sugya at a time across an eight to ten week track, with recorded shiurim, a printed booklet, a chavrusa, and a global WhatsApp group where the same sugya is discussed all week.

What that does to a person is the subject of a newly released podcast episode, recorded as the Kollel wrapped its previous sugya on Nisyonos. Rabbi Yossi Cheruff of Birmingham, UK, and Rabbi Avrohom Bechor of Randolph, NJ, work through parenting, community relationships, and when a person should be seeking professional help rather than working on himself alone.

Rabbi Cheruff described the effect of learning one sugya for two months straight as putting on a particular pair of glasses. Every conversation, every situation in the community, starts coming back to it. Watch their conversation here:

“It’s not just learning a sicha here or a maamer there,” said Rabbi Ahron Simon of Dallas, TX. “The sugya becomes part of you. The Kollel’s structure keeps me motivated and consistent.”

Rabbi Mendel Katzman of The Hague, Netherlands, said: “It’s a revolution. You’ve never learned Chassidus the way it’s taught in this Kollel.”

The Bitachon & Hishtadlus track includes shiurim delivered by Rabbi Osher Farkash and Rabbi Yosef Klyne, farbrengens geared toward practical avodah, a custom printed booklet mailed to each participant’s home, and access to a global network of chavrusas.

With the new zman now beginning, Anash and Shluchim worldwide are invited to join.
