Camp Gan Yisroel UK (CGI UK) Concludes an Unforgettable Summer of Growth, Chassidishkeit and Fun
Over 150 campers and staff from across the UK, Europe, U.S., Israel and South Africa joined for a summer of Chassidishkeit, growth and unforgettable experiences.
Camp Gan Yisroel UK has concluded another highly successful summer, with over 150 campers and staff from around the world enjoying a summer filled with Chassidishkeit, friendship, personal growth and non-stop fun.
Directed by Rabbi Shmuli Brown, with Menahel Ruchni Rabbi Folly Dubov, the camp combined a strong ruchniyus program with an action-packed schedule. Campers learned Mishnayos, Tanya, Maamorim and more, while taking on personal hachlotos for their Aliyos on Shabbos and importantly, commitments to continue throughout the year.
Head Counselors Yudi Brown and Dovi Pink, led a committed team of counselors and staff who worked around the clock to ensure that each camper felt cared for, included and truly at home.
A major milestone this summer was the first ever separate Masmidim site. Due to the division’s growth, the Masmidim campers (ages 14-16) had their own dedicated campgrounds, with a Zal, dining room, classrooms, accommodation and outdoor grounds. Division Heads Shloimy Shtern and Avremi Matusof, together with their staff, created a powerful atmosphere of learning and Chassidishkeit. A special raffle for the opportunity to spend Tishrei by the Rebbe has already inspired a large group of campers to join the annual CGI UK Tishrei trip, led by Shloimy Shtern and Zushi Borenstein.
The Chassidisher atmosphere was felt throughout camp, from spirited davening and bentching to Shabbos meals filled with singing, farbrengens and inspiring stories.
At the same time, the boys enjoyed an action packed summer, including a major theme park, ice skating, bowling, mud trails, snow and aqua parks, go karting, water sports, BBQs, bonfires, sports activities and midnight runaways. The summer reached its peak with the much anticipated Color War, bringing tremendous Chayos and team spirit.
Behind the success of the summer was the extraordinary dedication and devotion of the counselors and entire staff, who gave of themselves day and night to ensure that every camper felt cared for, included and able to enjoy an unforgettable experience. Their commitment and personal investment in each boy helped create the unique atmosphere that defines CGI UK.
Rabbi Yechiel Wilhelm and Sara led the kitchen team, while Tzivia Brown, together with General Managers Davidi Ben Yoav, Yankel Weinbaum and Binyomin Kahanov, coordinated the extensive logistics and operations.
The summer concluded with a grand banquet, prize giving and emotional farewells accompanied by the traditional singing of “Goodbye Gan Yisroel.”
While the summer may be over, the inspiration continues, with year round programs helping campers maintain the friendships, hachlotos and Chassidishkeit they experienced in Gan Yisroel UK.
Parents expressed tremendous appreciation for the genuine care shown to their children and the noticeable growth they saw in their sons throughout the summer.
