One Minute Halacha Group Expands In Crown Heights

A fast-growing WhatsApp group was recently launched to encourage the daily study of practical halacha. Each day, participants receive a one-minute voice note covering a halacha from the Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch, making it easy to incorporate practical halacha study into their daily routine.

The initiative continues the legacy of Rabbi Peretz Feigenson ע”ה, a respected Chosid and Talmid Chochom who dedicated his life to spreading Torah throughout the Crown Heights community. Following the Rebbe’s launch of Mivtza Torah in 5731 (1971), he sprung into action, and – working closely with Rabbi Dovid Raskin ע”ה of Tzach – began organizing shiurim in shuls throughout the neighborhood.

Many fondly remember the countless shiurim and chavrusos he established and led over the years.

In his tzava’ah, he asked his children to learn one seif of Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch each day. In fulfillment of that request and in his memory, his son, Rabbi Mendel Feigenson, Shliach in Sugar Land, Texas, now shares a brief daily halacha voice note through this WhatsApp group, thereby allowing others to learn and benefit as well.

This Tuesday, 21 Av (August 4), the group begins the practical laws of Tishrei. New participants are invited to join nearly 200 others already benefiting from the daily one-minute halacha.
