“A 5% Chance.” That’s What Some Are Told
For some of the couples Bonei Olam Chabad walks with, 5% is the whole story. It’s the chance a doctor gives them of ever holding a child of their own. Slim. Not zero. The kind of number most people would be told to make peace with. And it’s exactly in that margin that Bonei Olam Chabad does its work, giving those couples the medical guidance, the funding, and the steady support to keep going when the odds have quietly written them off.
So there are two 5%s in this story.
One is ours, and it’s the easy one. It takes just a few minutes and a gift. Every dollar goes straight to couples in our own community taking their next step toward parenthood. The treatments, the consultations, the round-the-clock care. All of it made possible by people who refused to let 5% be the end of the story.
The other 5% belongs to a couple in our community, quietly carrying a hope they’ve learned not to say out loud. They fight for their 5% every single day. Tonight, the least we can do is close ours.
This past year, this community supported 148 couples, made 299 procedures possible, and welcomed 37 precious babies into the world. Every one of them was once somebody else’s long shot.
There are still 119 couples still waiting for their turn.
Help us close our 5% and turn a maybe into a yes.
Celebrate your blessings. Help others build theirs.
