“My Shluchim Are My Blue Check” Record Breaking Dating Event Sees Young Professionals Turn To A Platform They Can Trust

As dating today becomes increasingly more challenging, Shluchim across the globe unite to bring their young professionals to the chuppah, utilizing met@chabad and the world’s largest Jewish virtual speeddating event.

As with many young singles navigating today’s dating scene, Alexa from Chicago had reached a point of frustration.

Recently settled into her career at a financial firm and finding her footing in city life, she now is genuinely looking to meet her soulmate and take the next step toward building a family. But she never imagined the search would become so exhausting.

Like countless others, Alexa turned to dating apps in hopes of expanding her circle. Time and again, however, she encountered the same disappointing pattern. More often than not, a promising profile would lead to an in-person meeting, only for her to discover that the person sitting across from her bore little resemblance to the carefully curated profile she had been shown.

“It’s difficult when you feel like you’re investing so much of yourself into the process, only to realize this isn’t even the person you expected to meet,” she said.

Alexa’s experience has become increasingly common among today’s singles. In fact, it has become so widespread that various terms have already been created to describe the phenomenon.

“It’s incredibly frustrating that there’s no accountability to make sure the person I’m meeting is actually who they say they are,” Alexa explained. “This lack of credibility adds another layer of anxiety to a process that can already be uncomfortable for many.”

“The Rebbe taught us abandoning modern technology is not the solution,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Chairman of Chabad Young Professionals International. “The shluchim are the global Jewish support system. They know their young professionals and understand them more than tech can ever. When you join that trust to the best matchmaking tools out there, we can help people build real, beautiful Jewish homes.”

It began by asking a simple question: What would happen if trust could be built into the dating process from the very beginning?

That conversation began around a table of 50 Chabad Young Professionals (CYP) shluchim at a conference in 2021. From that discussion, Met@Chabad was born.

Rather than relying solely on swipe-based algorithms, Met@Chabad combines Chabad’s global network of thousands of shluchim with AI-powered, values-based matching to help Jewish singles date with intention. But perhaps its most distinctive feature is the human element behind every profile.

Every participant is personally verified by their local shliach before joining the platform, giving singles confidence that the individual they are being introduced to is real and accurately represented. Throughout the dating journey, participants also receive guidance and support from their local rabbi, bringing accountability and personal care to a process that has often felt anonymous.

“Met@Chabad stands apart from every other dating platform because it restores trust to the dating experience,” said Rabbi Beryl Frankel. “When people know the information they’re receiving is genuine and that there are trusted community leaders invested in their success, it changes the entire experience. It’s truly a game changer.”

Continuing its mission of helping Jewish singles build lasting Jewish homes, Met@Chabad will host a Global Virtual Speed Dating Event on August 9, 2026.

Expected to be the largest synchronized Jewish virtual speed dating event ever held, the event will bring together Jewish singles from more than 30 countries and over 1,000 Chabad communities for five rounds of one-on-one video dates and relationship coaching between sessions.

As thousands of young Jews continue searching for meaningful relationships, Met@Chabad is demonstrating that the future of Jewish dating is about combining innovation with the trust, guidance, and personal connections all designed to help singles approach dating with greater intention, confidence, and purpose.
