New Rabbinical Couple Joins Jewish Community of Kryvyi Rih

Rabbi Yossi and Menucha Rachel Alperovitz have arrived from Israel to join the rabbinical and communal leadership of Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine. Working under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Liron Edri and alongside the city’s rabbis and Chabad Shluchim, the young couple will help strengthen Jewish religious, educational, and community life.

Their responsibilities will include expanding Torah classes and prayer services, organizing Shabbat and holiday programs, and developing formal and informal educational initiatives for children, young adults, families, and seniors.

Members of the local Jewish community warmly welcomed the Alperovitz family and expressed their appreciation for the additional spiritual guidance, personal support, and community programming their arrival will make possible. They wished the couple success in their new role and voiced hope that their leadership would contribute to the continued growth and unity of Jewish life in Kryvyi Rih.

The appointment reflects the ongoing investment in Jewish communities across Ukraine despite the continuing crisis and the many challenges facing local families. Community leaders remain committed to developing Jewish life in all its aspects—from religious services and education to youth engagement, social assistance, and care for the needy and elderly—ensuring that every Jewish person can remain connected to their heritage and receive meaningful communal support.
