Moshe Laufer Releases Long-Awaited “Chabad 6”

In honor of Tu B’Av, renowned arranger Moshe Laufer and producer Levik Touboul have released “Moshe Laufer Plays Chabad 6,” the newest chapter in the acclaimed album series that has become a staple of Chabad and Jewish music collections around the world.

The series, first launched 15 years ago, has earned a lasting place in the world of Chassidic music. The previous five albums sold tens of thousands of copies and became fixtures at farbrengens, simchos, and Jewish homes, with many of their arrangements becoming synonymous with the sound of Chabad celebrations.

Now, with the release of the sixth volume, Laufer and Touboul continue their mission of bringing the timeless treasures of Chabad niggunim to life through rich, contemporary orchestral arrangements while remaining faithful to the melodies’ original spirit and authenticity.

The new album features a carefully selected collection of classic Chabad niggunim alongside lesser-known gems that receive fresh exposure through Laufer’s signature orchestral style. Each melody is treated with the respect and sensitivity that have defined his decades-long career, preserving the soul and tradition of the niggun while presenting it in a vibrant new musical setting.

Joining the project are well-known Chabad vocalists Eli Marcus and Mendy Jerufi, together with Yoni Shlomo and Boruch Sholom Belsofsky, each lending their distinctive voices to the album’s diverse repertoire.

Special attention was also given to the choral arrangements. The producers selected the Chabad choir A Kapele, whose members are deeply familiar with the world of Chabad niggunim and their authentic style. The choir was recorded in New York under the direction of musician Yossi Cohen, with meticulous attention paid to pronunciation, musical nuances, and the unique character of every niggun.

The album’s mixes were crafted by Mendy Friedman and Aviv Yerimi, whose work adds depth, clarity, and power to Laufer’s arrangements. Final mastering was completed by veteran sound engineer Eli Lishinsky, providing the production with its polished, professional finish.

Fifteen years after the series first began, “Chabad 6” continues the tradition that has made these albums a hallmark of Chabad music—presenting the depth, warmth, and inspiration of Chabad niggunim on a grand musical stage while remaining true to their timeless essence.
