Ahead of Record–Breaking Event, Met@Chabad Expands To Three New Languages
Chabad House communities worldwide are preparing for the world’s largest Jewish virtual speed-dating event. As growing demand for a trusted, values-first platform drives Met@Chabad’s expansion into three new languages.
As thousands of Jewish singles continue to join Met@Chabad, the global matchmaking initiative has expanded its platform to include Russian, Spanish and French, making it accessible to more Jewish communities worldwide.
“Many young Jewish professionals are among only a handful of singles in their communities,” says Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, executive director of Merkos 302. “When shluchim connect their communities across countries and languages, the circle of possibility expands dramatically. A person who once had few meaningful options can now meet someone who speaks the same language, shares Jewish values and holds a similar vision for the future.”
What began as a new approach to Jewish matchmaking is developing into a global resource for shluchim and the communities they serve.
Launched in 2021 by Chabad Young Professionals International at Merkos 302, Met@Chabad was created to bring the Rebbe’s vision of marriage-oriented dating to a generation navigating today’s swipe culture.
Combining AI-powered matchmaking with Torah values, trained matchmakers and the personal guidance of local shluchim, the initiative helps young Jews date with purpose rather than by chance.
What began as a few pilot events in Miami, LA and NY has since grown into a worldwide network of thousands of Jewish singles seeking to build Jewish homes with purpose, clarity and confidence.
With the addition of three new languages, Russian-, Spanish- and French-speaking users can now navigate the platform in their native languages while remaining connected to a worldwide network of Jewish singles.
While many dating apps rely solely on algorithms, Met@Chabad was built around a different philosophy.
In an era when many young adults describe online dating as anonymous, overwhelming and untrustworthy, Met@Chabad places personal relationships alongside modern technology.
Its intelligent matching system helps identify compatible introductions, but every member is personally verified by a local Chabad rabbi before joining the platform.
Throughout the process, participants remain connected to someone who knows them personally and can offer guidance, encouragement and accountability as they navigate dating.
“The goal is not simply to create more matches,” says Rabbi Beryl Frankel, director of CYP International. “It is to help young Jews approach dating with purpose and a clear vision of the home they hope to build, so they can recognize when the right person is sitting across from them.”
That human element has become one of the platform’s defining features.
The multilingual expansion comes ahead of Met@Chabad’s Global Virtual Speed Dating Event on August 9. Organizers say the event is expected to bring together over 12,000 Jewish singles from more than 30 countries and over 1,000 Chabad communities around the world.
Throughout the evening, participants will take part in five rounds of nine-minute one-on-one video dates, with each introduction powered by Met@Chabad’s values-based AI matching system, developed in consultation with Yale researchers. Between rounds, participants will receive practical dating insights and guidance, creating an experience designed not simply to generate matches, but to help young Jews date with intention and purpose.
