Preparations Underway as Largest Kinus HaMechanchim Begins Today

The finishing touches are being prepared as hundreds of mechachim traverse the globe ahead of the 26th International Kinus HaMechanchim, which begins today in Stamford, Connecticut.

Behind the scenes, teams have been working around the clock to prepare every detail of the two-day Kinus — from sessions and programming to meals, accommodations, transportation, and atmosphere — all with one goal: to give mechanchim two days to recharge, connect, gain practical tools, and return to the new school year strengthened for their shlichus.

Throughout the year, mechanchim carry an enormous responsibility. Day after day, they walk into their classrooms charged with shaping the minds, hearts, and futures of our children.

“Mechanchim dedicate themselves every day to teaching, guiding, inspiring, and investing in their talmidim, often far beyond the hours of the school day,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, General Chairman of Merkos Chinuch Office and director of the International Kinus Hashluchim. “The Kinus gives them an opportunity to step away from the daily pace, spend time with fellow educators, gain practical tools and fresh ideas, and return to their classrooms strengthened and ready for the year ahead.”

This year’s Kinus carries particular significance as the Jewish world marks 50 years since the Rebbe launched Mivtza Chinuch, placing a powerful emphasis on the responsibility to reach and educate every Jewish child.

“Fifty years since Mivtza Chinuch, this is a fitting moment for mechanchim to come together and refocus on the core mission of chinuch, raising a generation of פרומע, ערליכע, ווארימע, חסידישע אידן, and ensuring that the עיקר remains at the center of everything we do,” said Rabbi Zalmy Loewenthal, Associate Director of Merkos Chinuch Office.

The program will combine practical professional development with inspiration, farbrengens, opportunities for connection, and dedicated sessions addressing the real challenges mechanchim face in their classrooms and schools.

Beyond the individual sessions, the goal is for the spirit of the Kinus to permeate the entire experience — reminding every mechanech of the importance of his work and showing appreciation for those who dedicate themselves each day to the chinuch of our children.

As the final preparations come together and mechanchim begin making their way to Stamford, the atmosphere is one of anticipation for two days dedicated entirely to those entrusted with one of the greatest responsibilities in Klal Yisroel: the chinuch of the next generation.

The Kinus HaMechanchim will take place Tuesday–Wednesday, July 28–29 / י״ד–ט״ו מנחם אב, at the Armon Hotel in Stamford, Connecticut.
