Hundreds of Chassidim to Participate in the Yahrtzeit Farbrengen in Alma-Ata

Preparations are being finalized to welcome the hundreds of guests expected to arrive in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan, for the Yahrtzeit of Harav Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, the Rebbe’s father, on Chof Menachem Av.

Bochurim from several yeshivos—including [list of yeshivos to be added]—are preparing to travel for the Yahrtzeit and to daven at the holy ziyun of the Rebbe’s father. The special charter flight carrying hundreds of guests, headed by philanthropist Lev Leviev together with dozens of directors and heads of the “Tiferes Levi Yitzchak” kollelim in Eretz Yisrael, will arrive in Alma-Ata on the day before the Yahrtzeit. They will be joined by many Shluchim and askanim from the countries of the former Soviet Union, Eretz Yisrael, and around the world, all united with the heartfelt Chassidishe feeling of “ben yechabed av”.

The organizing team has been working tirelessly to prepare for the arrival of the many guests, arranging all the necessary logistics, with particular emphasis on providing convenient transportation to the Tziyun.

This year, the hundreds of guests arriving on the charter flight will land shortly before the beginning of the Yahrtzeit and depart early the following morning. The central farbrengen will therefore take place on the night of the Yahrtzeit, in the spacious ballroom of the luxurious Rixos Hotel in Alma-Ata.

Among the speakers at the farbrengen will be Rabbi Shmuel Lew of London; Head Shliach to Kazakhstan, Rabbi Yeshayah Cohen; Lev Leviev; and Avi Shaulson of Florida.

In preparation for the large crowds expected at the Tziyun, maintenance and improvements on the cemetery pathways are underway to make access easier for the visitors arriving throughout the day and night.
