Despite Heavy Fire, School Year Ends Safely in Odesa, Ukraine
Despite the recent wave of drone and missile attacks in Southern Ukraine, students at Chabad of Odesa’s Mishpacha Orphanage safely ended the school year with the ringing of the “Last Bell.”
The “Last Bell” ceremony couldn’t be held in the school courtyard this year. So they moved it to a protected space to celebrate safely.
Israeli ambassador Michael Brodsky, British Lord Henry Byron Davies, and German Ambassador Heiko Thoms all took part in the ceremony.
“Our hearts ache to see the destruction, but we are comforted by the world’s warm embrace,” said Rebbetzin Chaya Wolf of Chabad of Odesa.
