TTOP Celebrates The Next Generation

Dressed for the occasion in matching gold crowns, sharp bow ties, and gold waist bands, the talmidim marched into the hall to the applause of proud parents, grandparents, and family members who gathered to share in the milestone.

The program opened with the talmidim performing a moving song, expressing gratitude to their parents for supporting their Torah learning. Showcasing the impressive grammar and language skills they developed throughout the year, with their rebbi – Rabbi Akiva Steinmetz. The boys also performed an interactive song about prefixes, with each boy proudly lifting a colorful prefix card he had personally decorated.

A major highlight of the event was the introduction of a special book compiled by the class. The volume features a written narrative of Parshas Bereishis alongside the original Hebrew pesukim. Put together entirely by the students, the book highlights their growing writing skills, complete with custom illustrations hand-drawn and crafted out of clay by the boys themselves.

Addressing the crowd, Principal Rabbi Menachem Lifshitz congratulated the young talmidim, reminding them that completing their first parsha is just the beginning of a lifetime growth. He emphasized the timeless message that the Torah learning they started this year will accompany them throughout their entire lives.

The energy in the room reached a peak during the recitation of the final possuk of Parshas Bereishis. As the boys concluded the parsha, the entire crowd began singing “Sisu V’Simchu.” The talmidim were then called up individually to receive a personalized certificate. Finally, the boys came off the stage to dance with their fathers, with many talmidim lifted high onto their fathers’ shoulders.

The celebration concluded with a series of six interactive learning centers organized by a dedicated committee of class mothers: Mrs. Bialistock, Mrs. Chanin, Mrs. Reich, Mrs. Hershkopf, Mrs. Rubinov, and Mrs. Halon. Each station was creatively themed around Sheishes Yemei Bereishis, featuring hands-on activities that included crafting animal puppets, decorating custom cupcakes, and potting live plants.
