Cheder Chabad of Florida Set to Purchase First Permanent Campus After Two-Year Journey
by CrownHeights.info
After years of remarkable growth, temporary locations, and a two-year journey filled with challenges and Siyata D’Shmaya, Cheder Chabad of Florida is nearing the completion of the purchase of its first permanent home.
Founded with a mission to educate, inspire, and nurture young Jewish minds, Cheder Chabad has grown in just seven years from 36 students to nearly 400, serving families across South Florida from West Palm Beach to North Miami Beach, with programs from preschool through 12th grade.
The school’s rapid growth made the need for a permanent campus increasingly urgent. Two years ago, after being forced to leave its previous building, the Cheder faced uncertainty with the coming school year approaching. In an unexpected turn of events, a rare opportunity became available: a 10-acre, 65,000-square-foot campus featuring classrooms, a gymnasium, cafeteria, commercial kitchen, athletic fields, courts, and ample parking.
With tremendous support from the community, Cheder Chabad secured a contract to purchase the property and launched the Boundless Campus Campaign, raising $1.5 million toward making the dream a reality.
The road, however, was not without obstacles. A legal dispute involving the property’s existing tenant placed the purchase in jeopardy, leading to months of litigation and uncertainty. Throughout the process, the Cheder remained committed to securing the campus while continuing to provide a stable chinuch for its students, even while operating from temporary arrangements.
After a lengthy legal process, a settlement was reached that preserved Cheder Chabad’s right to purchase the property and cleared the way for the closing. The tenant is now set to vacate, allowing the Cheder to finalize the purchase this summer.
The new campus represents far more than a building. It will provide stability, room to grow, and a permanent foundation for generations of students, teachers, and families.
The purchase requires a $5 million down payment. With $1.5 million already raised, Cheder Chabad is now working to raise an additional $1 million, with every dollar matched to double the impact.
“This is not a donation that fades,” the school shared. “It is a legacy — a lasting share in the first and forever home of Cheder Chabad of Florida.”
