6,000 Experience the 12 Pesukim at Chabad of Marine Park’s Lag Ba’omer Family Fair
Chabad of Marine Park’s annual Lag Ba’omer Family Fair hosted its largest turnout ever, showcasing Jewish pride and achdus through a 12 Pesukim themed experience.
Thrilling rides and moonbounces, the smell of BBQ and fresh popcorn, the energy of 6,000 people enjoying balloon sculpting, clowns, and pony rides, the milestone of 1,100 אות בספר תורה sign-ups, and the warmth of a Lag Ba’omer bonfire, all came together at the Marine Park Lag Ba’omer Family Fair.
This year, the event reached new heights with the introduction of The Great LEARNival, an action packed carnival experience geared for children to learn about the 12 Pesukim in a fun, interactive way.
Scattered throughout the rides and attractions, children discovered 12 beautifully designed carnival booths, each featuring hands-on activities teaching one of the 12 Pesukim.
At the “תורה” booth, they aimed mini Sefer Torahs into the hands of life size cutouts of children, highlighting how the Torah belongs to every Jewish child.
At the “בראשית” booth, they challenged themselves to keep a large inflatable globe floating over a fan, representing how the world is constantly recreated by Hashem to remain in existence.
At the “ושננתם” booth, they sewed small pouches for the 12 Pesukim booklets they received, so they could truly take the Torah with them wherever they go, “בלכתך בדרך.”
Although designed for children, the Great LEARNival attracted adults as well, impressing them with the clarity of its messages and the beautifully designed explanatory signage at each booth.
As the event wrapped up, children joined a game show featuring questions on the 12 Pesukim they had learned. A large two-foot dice was rolled to present each question to the audience, encouraging participants to vote on the correct answer.
The enthusiasm of the children waving their voting paddles demonstrated the powerful impact of the Great LEARNival, bringing the Rebbe’s messages to life in a tangible and practical way.
Rabbi Levi Hendel and the Chabad of Marine Park team are proud to mark 50 years since the introduction of the 12 Pesukim, fulfilling the Rebbe’s vision of empowering the soldiers of Tzivos Hashem wherever they are.
