Kollel Aliba D’Hilchasa Expands Faculty Ahead of New Sugya

Kollel Aliba D’Hilchasa, one of five kollel tracks under Merkos 302’s Merkos Torah, is heading into its next chapter with an expanded hanhala, a new sugya, and a first-of-its-kind learning opportunity for members.

“There’s a growing global community that is making serious, consistent Torah learning part of their lives,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Chairman of Merkos Torah. “Through Kollel Aliba D’Hilchasa and the other tracks within Merkos Torah, Kvius Itim L’Torah has become more accessible and structured than ever for busy shluchim and lubavitchers around the world.”

Three respected Rabbonim have joined the Kollel’s leadership. Rabbi Berel Polityko, a Moreh Hora’ah at Bais Hora’ah Chabad and Shoel Umeishiv of Kollel L’Hilchos Niddah, steps in as Sgan Rosh Kollel and Maggid Shiur.

Rabbi Dovid Refoel Banon, Rav and Dayan of the Lubavitch and Sephardi communities in Montreal and a member of the Montreal Beis Din, joins to oversee the Kollel and sign certificates.

Rabbi Faitel Levin, Emeritus Rav of Brighten Hebrew Congregation in Melbourne, Australia, and author of Hamafteach Hagadol, brings his acclaimed Advanced Contemporary Halacha course to Kollel members.

The Kollel is launching its next sugya: Hilchos Basar V’Cholov L’Maaseh, with Rabbi Polityko, who recently completed a sefer on the topic for JLI, leading the shiurim.

In addition, Rabbi Levin’s Advanced Contemporary Halacha course, previously valued at $3,000 and taken by hundreds of Rabbonim and shluchim over the past decade, is now available at no cost to all Kollel Aliba D’Hilchasa members. The current module covers electricity and electronics as they relate to Hilchos Shabbos. Learning is self-paced, with pre-recorded shiurim and a collection of teshuvos on related themes, offered in both English and Hebrew at multiple levels of intensity.

Merkos Torah, a project of Merkos 302, provides structured, chavrusa-based learning for shluchim and anash worldwide across five kollel tracks: Kollel L’Rabbonei Chabad, Kollel L’Lomdei Dach, Kollel Aliba D’Hilchasa, Dach L’Noshim, and Beis Medrash Iyun Tefillah, building a global community of daily learners.
