JLI: How I Survived the Holocaust | Eva Schloss

On the eve of Yom HaShoah, Rabbi Yitzchak Schochet sat down with Holocaust survivor Eva Schloss OBM, childhood friend of Anne Frank, for an unforgettable and deeply personal interview.

In this powerful interview, Eva recounts life under Nazi occupation, the slow tightening of restrictions, and the moment her family was forced into hiding. She describes the courage of the Dutch resistance, the fear of constant searches, and the incredible bravery of the families who risked everything to shelter Jews.

She then shares in heartbreaking detail the day her family was betrayed, arrested, and transported in cattle cars to Auschwitz. Eva brings us into that moment: her 15th birthday, the terror of separation on the platform, Dr. Mengele’s selections, the gas chambers, and the unimaginable willpower required to survive.

If this conversation moves you, please share it so the world continues to hear Eva’s voice and the voices of all who were silenced.
