New Chabad Center To Open in Coastal Palm Beach, FL

Chabad has reached a new shoreline: Coastal Palm Beach, where Jewish families — once scattered — are now finding connection.

In late 2024, Rabbi Mendy and Rivka Rotenstreich moved to Lake Worth Beach, Florida to establish a new Chabad presence there, a short distance from where Rivka’s family has long served as Shluchim.

“Palm Beach Island has a strong Jewish population, and now that’s starting to spill over into Lake Worth Beach,” said Rabbi Rotenstriech.

The Rotenstriechs have been busy hosting Shabbat dinners, holiday events, Torah classes, and community gatherings. They’ve also launched Healing Circle, a program dedicated to helping those in recovery — offering support with housing, jobs, and a caring community to lean on.

“I really enjoy the Shabbat dinners,” said Bonnie, who’s been living in Palm Beach since 2018. “Rivka manages to put together a five-course Shabbat dinner that’s just beautiful.”

Bonnie added that these gatherings have done more than provide meals. “Chabad has given me so many new connections and friendships. I’ve met Jewish neighbors I didn’t even know were here.”

“People we meet often say, ‘I thought I was the only Jew on the block,’” Rabbi Rotenstriech said. “The reality is that more and more Jews are moving in. It’s a growing city — and we’re happy to be a part of that growth!”
