Groundbreaking Held For New Chabad Bungalow Colony In The Pocono Mountains

This past Sunday, a momentous ceremony took place in Jefferson Township for the highly anticipated Kiryas Anshei Lubavitch summer home village.

The 65-acre development, nestled in the Mount Cobb area in the heights of the Pocono Mountains, marks the beginning of a vibrant new community.

The ceremony was led by Rabbi Lable Itkin, Shliach in nearby Scranton, who opened with a heartfelt Dvar Torah. He was followed by Rabbi Yossi Garelik, Rov of Anshei Lubavitch Shul, who shared the Rebbe’s sicha from the groundbreaking of 770, setting a powerful tone for the occasion.

The program continued with the official groundbreaking and the placing of the cornerstone for the new shul, symbolizing the foundation of Torah and communal life at the heart of the village.

Phase One of the project, featuring 40 units, is projected to be ready by Summer 2026 and is already almost fully reserved, Most lots are generously sized at approximately 70% of an acre, offering families both comfort and space in a beautiful natural setting.

Alongside the residences, plans call for a shul, camp, two pools, a splash pad, tennis and basketball courts, baseball field, mikvah, and more — all designed to create a warm and vibrant atmosphere where families can flourish.

While it is envisioned as a summer home village, the abundance of activities and amenities ensures that families will find plenty to enjoy year-round, including throughout the winter months.

With three sizes of thoughtfully designed houses to choose from, Kiryas Anshei Lubavitch is being built as a place where Chabad families can come together, connect, and enjoy the beauty of the Pocono Mountains in an environment infused with Chassidishkeit and community.
