
BDE: Hatomim Motti Katz, 18, OBM
With deep pain and heartbreak, we report the passing of Hatomim Motti Katz OBM, the beloved son of Rabbi Zev and Chany Katz. He passed away on Thursday night, the 7th of Av, 5785, after a prolonged illness.
He was 18 years old.
Motti grew up on shlichus in Miami Beach, Florida, and was a student at Mesivta Coral Springs. He was known for his kind and caring nature, always looking out for others, making sure no one was left out, and bringing warmth and calm wherever he went.
His dedication to mivtzoim was exceptional, often accompanying his father around Miami Beach to help others put on tefillin. Even throughout his difficult illness, Motti remained upbeat and positive, inspiring all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving parents, Rabbi Zevi and Chani Katz, and his siblings; Mendel, Baila, Chaya, and Miriam.
He is also survived by his grandparents Rabbi Fishel and Malca Katz, and Rabbi Yitzchok and Tzipora Sufrin.
The Levaya will take place near the Ohel, with the Aron passing by 770 at approximately 3:00pm and at the cemetery at 4:00pm.
The family will be sitting Shiva Motzei Shabbos – Saturday night in Crown Heights 9:45pm untill 11:45pm at 1642 Carroll Street. Shiva will take place at the Katz home 3134 Royal Palm Avenue Miami Beach, Sunday – Thursday.
