Chabad of UCLA was named in the University’s $6.45 million settlement as one of eight Jewish organizations to receive $2.33 million in charitable contributions.
“We are pleased with the terms of today’s settlement. The injunction and other terms UCLA has agreed to demonstrate real progress in the fight against antisemitism,” the parties said in a joint statement.
The suit was filed in 2024 by UCLA law student Yitzchok Frankel and two other Jewish students over a professor, whom they claimed did not adequately protect them.
The settlement was reached that agreed for the university to allocate $320,000 to an initiative to combat anti-Semitism, $2.33 million in charitable contributions to eight organizations – one of which is Chabad of UCLA, and the Attorneys paid $3.6 million.
