An 8-year-old boy was struck by a van on Eastern Parkway near Albany Ave Tuesday morning, and was rushed to the hospital by Hatzalah.

The driver and vehicle remained on scene of the incident.

Dangerous Intersection
Need to lower the speed limit on the Eastern Parkway service lanes.

I can’t believe these incidents keep on happening.
These neighborhoods got to upgrade their safety level.
I mean, technically, kids are getting killed on this road. Something needs to be done.
I almost got killed on that road. I’m lucky to be here

Google “traffic calming” and “daylighting intersections”
Every time the city tries to do it the community stops them

Every time the city tries to implement traffic calming, the community rejects it.
When we value our children’s lives more than we value drivers’ convenience, we’ll have safer streets
very disappointed
when will the bsbigshots step up advocate maybe froce the city to put spped bumps issue speeding &redlighttickets! cars speed on thathe side road 24/7 in order to make the lihty at he corner! why are there strangely no speed bumps outside any of the yeshivas yet there are sped bumpsfor example on Montgomery & NY ave or other places that are low priorities?

Drivers need to be more careful, and all pedestrians need to look both ways before crossing, and parents please teach your kids this. And we all have our ears blocked and faces in our phones. It only takes a few seconds to look both ways. It is not always the drivers fault. And bikers too, you must follow the rules of the road.

As usual, blame the victim!

Why is an 8 year old crossing a busy road like Eastern Parkway unattended by a responsible adult?
Ch single girl scared of crossing streets bc I’ll die alone
My terror story: In June this year right opposite that exact street, it was raining, so I was extra scared & super vigilant, I looked both ways carefully stepped out ON THE CROSSING & an uber driver came racing around from the main road so fast I had to jump back THREE times (idk how!) out of the way. I am still awed that I made it out with my hips intact/alive. Yay now I can still have babies.
