BDE: R’ Avi Piamenta, 69, OBM
With great sadness we report the passing of R’ Avi Piamenta OBM, a famed Lubavitcher musician. He passed away suddenly Erev Shabbos, the 8th of Tammuz, 5785.
He was 69 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Yudit, and their children, Yehuda Piamenta (Crown Heights), Genya Suwed (Mexico), Rivka Eichler (New Haven), Mushka Piamenta (Monsey), Chana Atar (Nicaragua), Mendy Piamenta (New Haven), Dovy Piamenta (New Haven), and Yossi Piamenta (Crown Heights).
He is also survived by his siblings, Mrs. Chaya Meer (Morristown) and Mrs. Chana Lorber (Kfar Chabad). He was predeceased by his brother, R Yossi Piamenta OBM in 2015.
The Levaya will take place Sunday, approximately 12:30pm, passing by 770 Eastern Parkway on its way to Ertez Yisroel.

One night I was out late at a wedding, music by the Piamentas. The next morning as I was walking up Kingston to 770 to daven I ran into R’ Avi on his way back home. Avi was very appreciative of my compliments on the music the night before, and I got a life-long lesson on starting the day on time. BDE.
