13th Ave Bakery Now Under The Hashgacha of the CHK

by CrownHeights.info

The Vaad Hakashrus of Crown Heights has taken a major step towards expansion this week as it certifies a 13th Ave Bakery in Boro Park, just blocks from Maimonides Medical Center.

“We are pleased to announce that Cookie Corner, located at 4505 13th Avenue in Brooklyn, is now officially under the supervision of the Vaad Hakashrus of Crown Heights (CHK),” the CHK wrote in a press release. “This charming bakery is now certified for its full line of delicious baked goods — offering the community a sweet spot they can trust.”

All baked products at Cookie Corner are Pas Yisroel, and all dairy items are Cholov Yisroel. Products are clearly labeled, and the certification is valid only in the presence of a Shomer Shabbos staff member on premises, according to the CHK.

Please note: CHK supervision applies only to the bakery items. The café on premises is not covered under this certification.

Is it not an issue to certify part of the premise not all? Seems like placing a stumbling block before the blind. Seems like all the food comes out of the same facility so why is some ok and not all?

Its not an issue. In a supermarket you find products with different hechsher. The cafe can be purchasing their baked goods from a CHK certified bakery and repackaging.
By making the information in the article clearly the baked products are certified by CHK and not the cafe removes the stumbling block.
